Im on prednisone and now Im swelling up like a balloon

so I have to take prednisone for a while now, and it's causing some problems:
I'm taking it for my ulcerative colitis, so now that my colon's been pretty much fixed by the prednisone, I'm able to absorb the correct amount of nutrients, unlike before
also, prednisone makes you hungry as a motherfucker, so at first I was eating nonstop (now I am trying to take control, but its very hard, I just want to eat everything) this is made worse by the fact that I'm not taking adderall anymore because the prednisone/adderall mix makes me feel horrible, and its also second half of my senior year of high school so there's no reason to focus very hard on school.
and lastly, prednisone makes you retain a lot of water and you swell up and look even fatter than you are, especially in the face
I also feel like its making me less able to exercise, I've been doing exercise daily since last summer, and recently I can barely run 5 minutes straight, even though I was going on 30 minute runs earlier this year
and my legs always start to ache right away, I feel really stiff like I lost all my flexibility
now, Ive read some horror stories about people who went on prednisone for 5 weeks, gained 70 pounds, and took 5 years to lose the weight, and Ive decided I'm not going to end up like them
ive already gained about 30 pounds (I started from dangerously underweight so ~15 of those were actually good)
but the combination of being hard to exercise and being incredibly hungry is really hard to deal with, does anyone have any advice or help for me?
i just need a way to make sure I'm consistent and don't let myself slip
I know people with this exact problem who had no problems losing weight afterwards. It might suck, but it's no different from losing "normal" weight.
Also, have you tried lifting weights? You don't really get fatigued like when you do cardio so it might be a possibility.
i could try lifting, i do have a few dumbbells
fuck im so close to ordering pizza hut
i need a good way to keep my mind off food
Try talking to a doctor and seeing if there are any alternatives
not an option
prednisone was already one of the heavier steps up in treatment, it's not like they didn't try less serious medicine first
also i already started and the withdrawal effects are very serious so ive actually been waning down for a few weeks now, but I still have a few weeks to go
also what I mean by I can't run more than like 5 minutes is that my legs will get really tired and start to hurt, even though my heart is fine
its really weird, I dont know if the prednisone is causing it or not
Well you're packing on weight pretty fast, so it makes sense that your legs will be under higher levels of stress when running.
first youre on it . then your colon is better so you dont need it . now youre on it again???
Go to a proper gym. If you really eat as much as you say you'll be able to gain some muscle as well. Might as well get strong.

no, I was put on it, and it healed my colon very quickly, but now I have to wane down really really slowly because its a very serious medication
try reading
there was no mention of continuance after you said your colon was better. regardless either stop eating so much or take roids to stay lean. or quit being a baby about exerc7se and eat right and do ss pp. add me on steam if you want help with the 2nd option.
do you realize that prednisone is a form of steroids
i was implying anabolics not glucocorticoids
