I've noticed there are many threads and discussions of Facepunchers talking about their students and their dreadful day with them, but we never see a thread with a teacher describing his own day with them on Facepunch. I always wondered why that, either their not obliged to do so by their job, or their beliefs, etc, or maybe their responses are as rare as the blue moon. So I would find it interesting to see if any Facepunchers that have a job at a school describing their own quarrels and tales at their school. You know, zing responses answered by the students or how queer their ESE students are (we had a janitor before with the "Ask a Janitor" thread, but I thought it would be more interesting to hear from teachers and administrative personal too.)
Teachers are busy grading tests and homework so they get payed.
We facepunchers procrastinate or don't do homework at all.
Well then what do teachers do in their free time? Work together with other teachers to place tests on the same day?
I had the best teacher ever in grade 10. I took film class and he's a huge movie buff. His room is coated with Ramones, AC/DC and horror movie posters.
He showed us the following:
-Nosferatu
-King Kong
-Cat People
-Ace in the Hole
-Night of the Living Dead
-Ed Wood
-American Movie
-The Wild Bunch
-Freaks
Next to nobody liked any of them, but we really clicked. We talk on free classes like normal people, nothing really formal about it at all.
He even lent me "The Thing" one time. What a badass.
By the sounds of it, he wanted "your thing".
[I'm not a teacher, but if I was, I would be my english teacher:]
My English teacher -sarcastically- makes fun of everyone. He goes to extreme lengths to do so too. He'll even give us extra points if we can make fun of him more then he can.
I would be a P.E. Teacher. 1 word Laps
I regularly imagine myself talking to an unidentified audience, explaining detailed subjects. And I think I'd really like teaching in itself.
So math/ physics teacher all the way.

the thing was an awesome movie, probobly the only movie that got me on edge till the very end
I would love to be a teacher, i'd be the badass teacher that sarcastically makes fun of the stupid kids, and let my class watch awesome movies, etc. etc.
not interested in masters degree as soon as i'm out of high school, thankyou.
I've never seen any FPers that worked at a school except this one janitor
One time I had to paint a mural on the wall of a preschool and I got paid so I guess that kind of counts.
I think our art teacher is pretty cool. He was quite social and would normally take to the students during class. He also hated Nyan Cat and Robot Unicorn Attack, thank god. I think he once said that we were going to watch Iron Giant someday. Oh man, the nostalgia.
I should mention that he also owns some motorcycles. He recently got into an accident when some drunk driver ran into him. Broke his right arm and I think his left wrist.
Teachers can't afford computers
