I've had a 21.5" iMac for about two years now. But really, now I find that getting it was an awful decision, considering what my uses for it are, and am planning to sell it to assist with the cost of buying the parts for a propper computer.
Anyway,
So now here I am, attempting to sell the thing. I've tried eBay, but I got a false buy, and the thing got de-listed, and I'm probably not going to try that again. So, I'm wondering what I should do to sell the thing. I'm considering craigslist, but am a bit warry about the possiblity of getting scammed. There are various websites that are saying that they will buy them, and would like to know if anyone has any experience with these websites.
Or, I'm open to suggestions for any other methods of selling them that people have tried.
Old computers, even Macs are not quite as valuable as when you bought them. i've tried using ebay to sell my current custom build and the highest offer i got was $700 on a $2000+ setup that's 3 years old. As for selling it, try ebay again, and be specific and tell them exactly what it is. also set the starting bid a few below what you want. considering it's a mac, it will meet or even surpass what you would want, but not what it's worth when you bought it.
What are the specs on it/how much are you wanting to get out of it?
Bought it for $1500, I'm hoping for somewhere around $600-700,
Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.66GHz
2GB DDR2 RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 XT
500GB HDD
21.5" Screen
Running Snow Leapord and Win7 Ultimate.
oh it's one of those ones. Eh, you'll have trouble getting that much for it. Those ones had rather poor specs even for when they were new, and aren't in very high demand or anything as collectors items. I suggest looking on eBay for similar ones and pricing yours along those.
i'd buy it if I had the cash
Hmm. eBay won't let me relist it as I am a new member.
I start the bidding at $100
But yea, just make a new listing, shouldn't be too hard.
