I had a question. I have a 5770, and this mobo:

It says that i can crossfire (which i wanted to do) however instead of pci express x16 it will run it in dual 8x.
Im considering buying a 5850, however another 5770 is cheaper, and i was wondering if i were to crossfire the cards would i get less performance than i should be getting out of two 5770's cuz of the dual 8x link thingy?
Cards don't usually use all of the x16 bandwidth, so get two 5770's
Tom's hardware says even the 5870s aren't significantly bottlenecked at x8/x8, only losing something like 4% compared to 16x/16x, and single card solutions in x16 are better off in p55 than with x58 with it's 16x slot
TS:DR
No real bottleneck
buy the better card and x-fire later for better value
x16 slot p55 > x16 slot x58

cool, now in english?
2x 5770 @ x8 > 1x 5870 @ x16
As long as it's not x16/x4, you'll be fine.
In general he is saying to get the 5850 and crossfire later
second 5770 cheaper and better
alright soooo not much difference, however the 5850's just that awesome huh? Allright thanks, looks like im aiming for the 5850. thanks guys

Two 5750s are cheaper and often better.
Two 5750s would still be better and as ButtsexV2 said...Cheaper.
Bah! Made up my mind. Another 5770 it is

You'll still get a decent amount of performance so either way it's a win-win.
