As we saw at their winter “PlayStation Experience” event, the message was simple, a slow start for the PS4 was about to give away to a flood of great exclusives the following year. The most anticipated three Sony games of the year were The Order: 1886, Bloodborne and Uncharted 4. Now in March, Sony’s prospects look significantly more dim on the exclusive games front. The Order has come and gone, and despite being crafted by those who turned God of War into a powerhouse franchise, the game was received poorly by fans and critics alike, who didn’t appreciate the “interactive movie” nature of the game that was heavy on dry cover-based combat, unfail-able quick-time events, and an endless amount of cutscenes. Though it will surely spawn a sequel, The Order made a poor first impression when it was supposed to be the birth of a glorious new Sony-exclusive franchise An embargo lifted for a few sites who got access to a demo of the game ahead of the official review drop next week, and first impressions are, well, it’s certainly a Miyazaki game, which most will view as a compliment. Though Bloodborne shares the often punishing difficulty of the Souls games, the absence of a sword and shield will force players to rethink everything they know about their preferred style of gameplay. Bloodborne is said to be beautiful, grotesque and at least in these early impressions, just what the PS4 needs to stand out as they start to flounder in 2015 with the poor reception of The Order and the loss of Uncharted 4. PlayStation landing a Miyazaki game as an exclusive once more is a big get, as Demon’s Souls was one of the most unique titles on the PS3 when it was released in 2009, but the two titles that followed Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2, went multiplatform across PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Miyazaki wasn’t the director of Souls 2, which explains a somewhat more lukewarm reception from fans and critics, but now he’s back, and he’s all Sony’s. But does acclaim translate into big sales? Not necessarily in the case of the Souls franchise. According to sales estimates, Demon’s Souls moved 1.7M copies on PS3, Dark Souls sold 1.9M, and Dark Souls 2 sold 1.1M on PlayStation. Respectable numbers, but how do they stack up to Sony’s other giants? Well, God of Wars 1 through 3 sold 4.4M, 4M and 4.8M across the PS2 and PS3. The Uncharted series has sold 4.8M, 6.5M and 6.6M for its major three installments. Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us has sold about 8.3M copies between its original release and its PS4 remastering.
bit more in source Yeah; I am way too excited for this game. Looking forward to playing this 2016.
Looks like it's going to be in high demand on gamefly, I also probably won't get to play it until 2016
Pretty game... That weapon design is horrendous though lol
Pretty game... That weapon design is horrendous though lol
don't make me beat you with my transformable sword greatsword
I wasn't aware the PS4 needed a savior at this point. From the screens it looks a lot like DmC
Pretty game... That weapon design is horrendous though lol
Are we looking at the same weapon? That shit is hype as hell
I wasn't aware the PS4 needed a savior at this point.
In terms of "console exclusives" is what this article refers to. The order 1886 was the only other major ps4 exclusive coming this year since the next uncharted got delayed to 2016
I've heard nothing but amazing things, but the one recurring thing I have heard is that it's super hard, like Dark Souls vets have to throw out everything they know hard.
Let's be real though ANYTHING is better than the shit already on the PlayStation 4.
I've heard nothing but amazing things, but the one recurring thing I have heard is that it's super hard, like Dark Souls vets have to throw out everything they know hard.
There's no more blocking until the enemy opens up, which is how the majority of people probably played the Souls games. Now you're forced to dodge, manoeuvre, and be more aware of your surroundings no matter how you spec your character.

So far, most of the enemies appear to be much more determined to chase you down when you aggro, they follow you everywhere. Every time I have tried to 'speed run' past enemies to get to the boss again I have died very quickly. You simply have to fight or get overwhelmed."
I've heard nothing but amazing things, but the one recurring thing I have heard is that it's super hard, like Dark Souls vets have to throw out everything they know hard.
Meanwhile, Demon's Souls vets finally get something challenging to play again. :v: I really thought Dark Souls was easier than Demon's.
I've heard nothing but amazing things, but the one recurring thing I have heard is that it's super hard, like Dark Souls vets have to throw out everything they know hard.
Looks like I'm gonna have fun, then. [editline]16th March 2015[/editline]
Meanwhile, Demon's Souls vets finally get something challenging to play again. :v: I really thought Dark Souls was easier than Demon's.
Oh it totally was. Partially due to Demon's clunkiness and [sp]Maneaters[/sp]
Meanwhile, Demon's Souls vets finally get something challenging to play again. :v: I really thought Dark Souls was easier than Demon's.
ds1 is easier because literally everything after four kings is a setpiece or a bossfight
ds1 is easier because literally everything after four kings is a setpiece or a bossfight
I always do 4 kings last cause I always do Sif after the dlc so for me after 4 kings is endgame
ds1 is easier because literally everything after four kings is a setpiece or a bossfight
artorias rubbed the floor with me countless times before upgrading particularly a great scythe to +10
I wasn't aware the PS4 needed a savior at this point. From the screens it looks a lot like DmC
holy shit are you serious? [editline]16th March 2015[/editline] hahaha wow
holy shit are you serious? [editline]16th March 2015[/editline] hahaha wow
lol I forgot how super srs games/exclusives are around here. I'll see myself out
I wasn't aware the PS4 needed a savior at this point. From the screens it looks a lot like DmC
It certainly does, most of the games are garbage or at really "meh". DMC is fantastic (as long as you're not talking about the garbage reboot) but this looks way more like a souls game, because... it basically is
lol I forgot how super srs games/exclusives are around here. I'll see myself out
you didn't even answer me lol
Meanwhile, Demon's Souls vets finally get something challenging to play again. :v: I really thought Dark Souls was easier than Demon's.
I Think that comes from the whole sorta complicated mystery about mechanics in that game. Even playing it after the rest of the series I was sorta in the dark about how 90% of that game functions
you didn't even answer me lol
Ummm you didn't ask any questions... Wtf am I supposed to answer
I really feel like developers allow publishers to shoot themselves in the foot everytime they make an exclusive game. Especially since a pretty heavy amount of the fanbase played Souls 1 & 2 on PC and xbox, mostly PC. Not everyone is rich enough to buy a PS4 for one game.

too bad I'm not buying a ps4 just for 1 game because this is the only game that's actually worth anything on it to me
does it being exclusive to ps4 ever run out? another petition to get it ported to pc like ds1 would be great.
Good old grimdark
we need to write to the white house to ban console exclusives this is serious guys
does it being exclusive to ps4 ever run out? another petition to get it ported to pc like ds1 would be great.
Unfortunately, Sony is the only reason the game exists. Unless From or Sony decide to port over an "HD" Demon Souls (which would be fucking awesome btw) we probably won't be seeing Bloodborne on pc.
