I don't understand a how a game wins that many awards and not manage to be GOTY.
Shadow of Mordor deserved that award a lot more than Dragon Age IMO [editline]6th February 2015[/editline] Hell, there's several other games that deserved that award more than Dragon Age Why the fuck is Dragon Age getting so much praise [editline]6th February 2015[/editline] Destiny and DA:I are two of the biggest examples of games that are not worthy of the praise they're getting. 2014 was weird.

How did Destiny get action game of the year over Wolfenstein
Role-Playing/Massively Multiplayer Game of the Year: Dragon Age: Inquisition :v:
People still take those awards seriously?
How did Destiny get action game of the year over Wolfenstein
Popularity > actual design in these awards really.
I don't understand a how a game wins that many awards and not manage to be GOTY.
Let me enhance your confusion with my own confusion: how did Talion receive the character award?
Man, I really liked DA:I, but I just don't get why it got so many GOTY awards. It's a good game, but it has so many glaring issues.
This is like a parody, I mean I'm looking forward to playing Shadow of Mordor myself and heard many good things about it but what self-respecting game show can award so many categories to a single game that didn't exactly revolutionise anything (except maybe the Nemesis thing) when there's so many other games to choose from? And Talion as best character? Seriously?

The Shadow of Mordor wasn't bad, but it sure as hell wasn't "Outstanding".

I'd understand SOM to win the animation award, because its animations were really smooth as fuck. For the rest it was good, but not that good, to win all these awards.
None of this make much sense. The Shadow of Mordor wasn't bad, but it sure as hell wasn't "Outstanding".
I can see it in innovation and animation, and maybe game direction and game design.
I can see it in innovation and animation, and maybe game direction and game design.
How was Shadow of Mordor innovative at all? If anything that's the one category I can't possibly see it winning. It was a good, great even action game, but innovative? It took a lot of what worked in other games (namely the Arkham series) and slapped a half realized captain system to it. One of the better games of 2014 for sure but by no stretch of the imagination innovative.
how did shadow of mordor get best character talion was just a blank slate of nothing?
muh family, [del]lee[/del] ghost elf guy
I don't understand a how a game wins that many awards and not manage to be GOTY.
Because the awards are literally bought and paid for. Game is mediocre at best.
Jesus Christ, Shadow Of Mordor is overrated. It's literally just a cross between Assassin's Creed and Arkham. Story and character are practically non existant. The only thing that keeps the game interesting is the nemesis system and it's complexity is blown completely out of proportion by most reviewers.
The nemesis system.
Which was completely undermimed by how easy the game was, it was near impossible to die by the time the game got into a swing, there was no reason to advance time either.
