I saw this and thought "Pff, there are way better video games that were released this century, and also the last one."
I'm not very bright.
Considering how "Game of the Year" doesn't necessarily mean that the game was game of the year, I'm OK with this.

2012 and 2013 would have had at least 100 'GAME OF THE YEAR' games on top of any official ones decided in big events and so on.
This wasn't even Game of the Week.

Pull that stick out of your ass, SR4 was fine.
I know I'm late, but the "joke" is most likely the possibility that it will be Europe only. I feel that they'd be fools to only release an all in one package in just one region.
[sp]Since I've been waiting for the game + all DLC release of this, I really hope I'm right[/sp].
Also, "Game Of The Century" suits the whole "over the top" nature of the game. Not everyone is modest like Bethseda/Obsidian where Fallout: New Vegas had a "Ultimate" Edition rather than "Game Of the X".

Hating Saints Row is hip and cool

I don't know about SR4, but SR3 was fucking garbage.

Just one of the best game experiences I've had in recent years.

Not really. When it wasn't trying to convince me how awesome it was, it was pandering to the fans (Loadsnloadsa sing-alongs! Old Shaundie's back! Gat's back! Ben King's back! Maero's back! etc...) or forcing me through one-note video game parodies. It's highly derivative - Crackdown vibes emanated throughout, although the '50s sequences towards the end stank of DAH!1, although that may simply be similar setting and tone, although - and here's really probably the crux of the issue - that game was funny. SR4 relied on two aspects - the comedy, which wasn't funny, and the superpowers, which felt shallow and base, like MK9's Hooke's-Law-megatits.
Basically, it's all fur coat and no knickers.

4 is a better game than 3, there's little doubting that.

one of the worst for sure. cringe worthy humor and shitty missions all around.

Saints Row IV was less fun to me, tbh. Saints Row 3 had variety, and the vehicles were so fun to drive. Now, everything just... Is. And vehicles are actually a downgrade.
Not buying SR4 until they release GOTY (or their strangely named version of it).
Learned my lesson after SR3.
I don't know about SR4, but SR3 was fucking garbage.
The only problem I had with SR3 was that the luchador gang wouldn't wrestle you if you went in punching and they dare to call themselves La Lucha!
The fanservice feels like desperation, the emphasis on "CRAZYCRAZYCRAZYSCIFIPARODY" humor gives me a migraine, half the dlc is overpriced or should've been free, and you can put my hatred of the open-world Steelport on my fucking tombstone, but I'll be god damned if I didn't get a kick out of this game.

I played it through as Duke Nukem and the style of humor and such felt oddly fitting. SR4 is a better Duke Nukem Forever then the real DNF was. :v:
SR3 was the low point of the series, because it couldn't decide whether it wanted to be a comedic game or a more serious game like the first two and kept flip-flopping, which really hindered it's quality. SR4 dove headfirst into over-the-top-ness and stayed consistent, which made it a lot better. The debate on exactly how good it is compared to the first two will probably go on until the series is long dead and forgotten (or the next one comes out, if there is one), but I'd say that it was certainly a hell of a lot better than SR3.

I enjoyed both SR games because I just accepted they were about being stupid and nonserious.
It's not as if we're getting too many silly games like Saints Row, and I found SR3 and SR4 to both be very fun games.
I don't know about SR4, but SR3 was fucking garbage.
Dont play SR:4 then because it was more than full garbage than SR:3 but for myself I prefer personally SR:3 than SR:4
I not really liked SR:4 because the missions was crap (example : do a mission on the Virtual World and after go on the ship, go on the ship, go on the ship, go on the ship , get reward to do nothing for talking to some one on that damn ship... )
Oh and also the super power , why need to use car then...
My only gripes with SR4 is that the whole "President of the U.S." is really a gimmick as you are president for less than 10 minutes before being shoved into Zinyak's simulation.
[sp]Also the Earth being destroyed at the end.[/sp]
Pull that stick out of your ass, SR4 was fine.
My only complaint was it got boring real fast and was in general, too short.
