With Rockstar's great story telling I can't wait to see what they do with this. I'd be very impressed if they make the bad guy have good intentions and make you feel connected with the bad guy like you would with the good guy.
the bad guy is totally the guy on the right look at that smug face of his, he's totally bad
I would love if they do it like Red dead, that would be fucking cool
One of those characters is the game's main bad guy.
Was that really announced, or did Shacknews just misinterpret this:
"you get to play the protagonist and the antagonist in the same story."
The antagonist is the main "villain" of the story just as the protagonist is the main "good guy."
What if (from right to left) it's the good, the bad and the ugly?
I just hope that the character developement of the three characters will not fall to short, considering how can play them. Although I am really excited seeing the other characters in missions that you previously did with them. Like in Liberty city stories where you met Niko.
i hope michael is the bad guy edit: both other characters just seem better
Michael tried to turn his life around but ended up going back to crime, so if he's the bad guy we'll be seeing a seriously messed up man.
I hope jack nicholson on the left there isn't the bad guy, I hope he's just the crazy nut in the middle of it all who is only on the side of the guy with more money. He just looks like he might be the most likeable and complex character of the three. Hopefully he is at least. This is really looking like a Good Bad and the Ugly in modern times now, and that sounds awesome.
I can't wait to be good and obey Street Laws C:
I'd expect the bad guy to be the guy on the right first of all, because he looks like that actor that always plays bad guys. Failing that, the guy on the left, because ugly people do bad things with good intentions (of course). And no one suspects the black guy...
Well, they have made a prequel in which you play as a character that you see die at the beginning of an earlier title. Trust Rockstar to shake it up! Those new screen look incredible! I see Baja Beetles, and trains..!
Trevor would be too obvious, probably isn't Franklin My money's on Michael.
I always loved in rock-star games how the main character had a very large mix of good and evil. I'm not surprised.
Cant wait to see just what personalities they've come up with.
I get the feeling it's gonna be either Michael or Trevor as the bad guy. Michael's just got that tragic tinge to him that feel's like he's gonna follow his dreams, fuck it up and end up as the bad guy, with the obligatory tear jerker scene when he inevitably gets gunned down. And, well, Trevor just looks like a bad guy. But on the other hand, that's probably just what they want us to think.
the equivalent of, if you wrote a book, and you had two million spelling mistakes. And you had to do them by hand, in a language you didn't understand."
I'm sorry but as a developer myself this is literally the strangest and worst way to describe the process they are currently at. I guess they are trying to make it clear that their is still a lot of work left to do, but come on, this makes it sound like they don't know what they're doing or something.
Pretty sure this is just poor interpretation from Shack News. Rockstar meant that, during the story, the characters will conflict with each other. Their motives and ways of handling the situation will vary. If you're playing as Michael, and Trevor wants to do something different, Trevor becomes your antagonist. If you were to switch to Trevor, Michael is now the antagonist.
Jack Nicholson on the left
Jack Nicholson on the left
Frank West on the right.
Tracy Morgan in the middle.
I am wondering how they are going to make even a single character as great as Niko, let alone three. Hell, I'm wondering how they will even make a story as great as GTA IV, I mean the various moral choices throughout the game made it amazing. One thing that I already know just from the images is that the game itself will be more fun at least.
hahaha joke's on all the people who were like "$50 says you play a minority in GTA V"

See right off the bat i want to say Trevor is the antagonist, as he has every reason to be: Ex Military, got screwed out of any jobs and even had to quit robbing banks after Micheal quit the business and sold out some people for FIB protection; he's a drug addict living outside of los santos in a hick town residing in a small trailer. His personality alone is "i do what i want when i want". But Rockstar is amazing in writing things like these, because maybe Trevor is TOO obvious. It could easily be Micheal. He's getting old, obviously regretting selling out info about his heists, bored to death by the slow daily grind of being a citizen. He hates his trophy money spending wife, and loathes his children. He wants to get back in the game for fun, and he's getting up there in years and doesn't have much to lose at this point. However, i want to say Micheal is just in this for the thrill, for old time's sake with his old buddy Trevor. Franklin, it's going to be Franklin. I'm calling this. Franklin is young, and he's rising up in the chain of command and power. He's tired of being Albanian hired muscle and just a thug who shakes people down for money. He spent his whole life so far taking shit from old farts who have more power than him. Another interesting aspect is that, we know Micheal and Trevor already have a relationship built up in the past, they have history. With Franklin, he is quite possibly just another HIRED thug brought on by Micheal and Trevor. He has no connection other than money that we know of. Seeing being hired by these two old farts for some heists, he sees it as a new opportunity to move up in the ranks of the criminal underworld. Possibly even later using the fact that Micheal is in FIB protection against him, acting as a man on the inside to get back at Micheal by his past contacts. Unlike Trevor and Micheal, he has something to lose; his life and his career. If he could do anything to gain power, it'd be knocking off these guys, stabbing them in the back be in actually stabbing them , or screwing them over. Franklin is Neutral here, and you can never trust someone on the fence, they have their price to do whatever someone else wants them to do. Just pay their fee and their strings are up for grabs to be pulled by anyone. However this is ALL SPECULATION seeing as we only have brief biographies about these people, as well as given that Rockstar loves to fuck with their audiences mind. Keep in mind though the whole idea of this GTA Game, much like the last one, is more realistic of a take than just a typical gangster story. This gta is all about the pursuit of the might dollar, and Franklin has his whole life ahead of him to spend that dollar, and he wants all the might that comes with it.
I bet the villain is gonna be Cole Phelps no one would see it coming also this is weird but I kind of want to see if there will be any LA Noire or Max Payne shoutouts in GTA5
Somehow Michael's neutral facial expression makes him look like a nice guy who had a really bad day and starts a rampage like the Postal Dude or Michael Douglas in "Falling Down" which makes him kind of the bad guy for me in this picture. Trevor looks like a generic lunatic, nothing to be surprised of. I hope he is kind of dumb, weird and annoying like Lynch in Kane and Lynch, that would guarantee entertainment. Or maybe he is just an action-possessed guy like Phil Cassidy. Franklin is busta ... straight busta.
