... an art piece, by Candy Chang, installed in New Orleans.
http://candychang.com/before-i-die-in-nola/
One month and seven hours of intense stenciling later and it’s up! With a lot of support from old and new friends, I turned the side of an abandoned house in my neighborhood into a giant chalkboard where residents can write on the wall and remember what is important to them. Before I Die transforms neglected spaces into constructive ones where we can learn the hopes and aspirations of the people around us. It turns out this entire process (including obtaining official approval from many entities) has been a great lesson, experience, and project in itself – more on that later. If you’re in New Orleans, stop by the corner of Marigny and Burgundy (900 Marigny Street) to add your thoughts to the wall and see what matters most to your neighbors. It’s a question that has changed me in the last year, and I believe the design of our public spaces can better reflect what’s important to us as residents and as human beings. The responses and stories from passersby while we were installing it have already hit me hard in the heart. More installations to come. Huge thanks to Kristina Kassem, Alan Williams, Cory Klemmer, Anamaria Vizcaino, James Reeves, Alex Vialou, Sean Knowlton, Carolina Caballero, and Gary Hustwit for installation assistance and many others for support along the way! Concurrently installed in East/West Galleries. A project site is in the works.
(I realize this is probably old, but search doesn't let me search for these terms and the first 5 or so pages didn't have a thread related to this)
I want to post in a good thread

Zing? Anyway, this is a nice thread by my reckoning. You can go die now.
One of those says 'Hike the Appalachian trail' which I have done.
It made me feel really good about myself that others wish to do this, because it practically changed my outlook on life and nature.
Also this is quite touching seeing the amount of things people 'want' to do. Changing the world mainly. I'm sure all of us 'want' to change it but are having trouble doing so, and therefore you should all keep trying harder.
Before I die I want to troll Before I die wall
That chalk will be stolen fast in the ghetto.

In the ghetto it will be tagged with spraypaint in no time.

Did you do it via thru-hiking, or in segments?
I think it'd be pretty cool to hike, the only thing is I've been hiking in the smokey's so many times that I'd probably kill myself hiking through that again, especially on one long trip. They can be beautiful, but there's only so much you can take before I'd get tired of the same humid and mosquito infested locale with "hills" as far as the eye can see :P
I'd much prefer to hike somewhere in the west coast... I've never been there, and the type of environments they have over there are simply beautiful in my eyes.
Expected this to be a suicide thread

It is in the ghetto
Kind of obvious looking at the house the installation was put up on
Kill a lot of columbian drug lords, like my hero...

I've hiked the Smokey's around Gatlinburg aswell. It is pretty much the same thing except you will need a lot more water, time, patience, and endurance. Endurance isn't really something that bothered me because I am used to the outdoors anyways and don't really get tired when I hike long distances.
I did it in segments basically, but I hiked it every single day consecutively, most of the time doing more than 30-40 miles a day.
Before I die i want to make a positive impact on another persons life
I think it's odd how one was "I want to save a life"
Sounds cheesy and all, but most people have.. whether or not they know it, talking to someone when they're in a rough spot could well save their life. I found out (A few months afterwards) that one night I actually did save a guys life.
this is actually pretty cool, id love if this was around somewhere i lived, reading every bodies contribution would be really interesting

I think when they say 'Save a life' they mean a direct cause that they were aware of that caused the life of another to continue.
This is cool, I want to set one of these up somewhere, but I probably won't.

That's cool, if I did it, it would probably be in segments too. Endurance is definatly my weakpoint being a suburbanite though lol. I do really enjoy the outdoors though, every time I'd go on a "vacation" or some kind of trip it would usually involve going into the smokeys or similar.
I've done a 60 mile Kayak trip, and that was really awesome yet humbling too. Even if it was in mosquito infested tennesee too :p
I'm sure I could always build up enough endurance too hike the Appalachian trail (or similar) whole.

Do it.
The Appalachian trail is something everyone should hike before they die. It will completely change how you view things and generally make you a better person. The amount of terrain- And seasonal difference while hiking the trail.. Is absolutely brilliant.
Before I die, I want to live. This here, does not feel like life.
"Evaporate into the light"
Hm.

"Tried for piracy (Voted #1 for best wish)"
Before I die, I want to put humans on another planet, and help somehow with the colonization of our solar system.
Before I die I want to play Episode 3
Somebody wrote they wanted to swim in a pool of golden retriever puppies. What the hell.
This is a really creative idea. I wish we had more constructive creative people in the world that were more vocal like this. The world would be a much better place.
Before i die, i want my family to know that im gay.
