• 9800 gtx+ temps?

What is the average temp? I don't have any fancy cooling and while playing fallout3/CSS on high it seems to go between 50-60c. Is this normal?
That's alright. Come back when you get 70+.
Mine stays around 40 degrees, in an antec nine hundred (The card is also a replacement card from m manufacturer, it's thinner, cooling fan on middle and small pipes that go from the fan and across the card.) don't worry though, it's not a laptop so it's not going to melt for nothing. You should consider adding a fan though. [editline]11:13AM[/editline]
That's alright. I have 3 case fans. Although there are a shitton of wires everywhere. [editline]06:29AM[/editline] I was more curious if the heat is because I didn't do anything special with the wires (it is a mess). I may try turning on the 4th fan and maybe if that doesnt help much then turning the fans on medium.
Mine is between 70-80 degrees in most ganes.
in fallout 3 the screen went trippy so I was wondering if that was due to overheating or just bad drivers. (didn't happen before I updated my video drivers) although may even be fallout3. I play in windowed mode and fallout3 was the only thing affected and minimizing and maximizing fixed it when it happens.
Mine is between 70-80 degrees in most ganes.
100C on my CPu on hl2dm O_O call that cool or what. Most gpus range from 50-80C during Full load and 20-49 Idle, so your 9800 is safe, make a profile in the driver installation, when idle set fan to 5% or 20%, Do not allow Auto, when you do full load, switch fan to 100%. [EDIT] If you can.[/EDIT]
80c is fine on a 9800, TMSC's 55nm is quite tough. Too bad Hi-K metal gates made 45NMs more fragile to voltages and heat.

My 9800 idled at 62c and loaded to 74c under load, but i used rivatuner and turned up my fans speed to 70%. Now i idle at 43-40c and max 55c.

When will people like you ever learn (Not pointing it at Bana or Comp whizi) Posting a stupid comment like that is not helping, (Even though this is not helping either, but I am trying to help you not to be a stupid poster.) Rethink, and actually post some god damn sense.

First of all I am not you're lady friend,( please note I am male here you stupid fuck ) Second of all, why bother. Third of all, you actually posted some good sense after "bro" So have a cookie dumb box again.

Ok,ill post my stuff in one sec...And for someone who joined in the last couple days you feel you own the place. Not a source. EDITED: Shut up.Get out.
what brand, and what fan setting are you @? Are you using a non-nvidia pcb?
Oh wow, you can idle at 42C. AMAZING. 80C for those cards is okay under load. I believe shut down doesn't occur until 120C.
what brand, and what fan setting are you @? Are you using a non-nvidia pcb?
XFX with my core clock at 738mhz.With Rivatuner my fans at 60% now. Heres the card:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150314 And heres proof while they CAN handle 100c its not safe to on a DAY TO DAY basis. AMAZING.
Thanks. After i booted my fan speed from 40 to 60% it took 20c off the idle temps.I was completely impressed.
9800GTX+ max temp is 105*c as per the website, at full load while folding, my slightly overclocked cards run at about 80*c with 15-20*c ambient. Keep in mind I am folding 24/7. During gaming they run quite a bit cooler /shrug Nvidia site: Click me! "Thermal and Power Specs: Maximum GPU Temperature (in C) 105 C "
Barley anybody gets above 90c anyway.
Ideally you want to be below 70°C anyway. That's what I try keep all my parts at under 100% load.
i would say it is, mine runs around there also and i have no problems.
Ideally you want to be below 70°C anyway. That's what I try keep all my parts at under 100% load.
80c is more 'ideal' than 70.
80c is more 'ideal' than 70.
Why and how?
80c is ideal, 70 isn't that hot, they are meant to take high temps.
80c is ideal, 70 isn't that hot, they are meant to take high temps.
....what? You're right. I should turn down my fan speed and MAKE my graphics card run hotter. After all, according to your logic running it at 80C instead of 70C or any other lower temp would be "ideal". [editline]10:55PM[/editline] btw i run mine at 50c on load
