Hamachi is a Virtual Private Network. If you wouldn't let the people join your home wifi, then don't join that VPN. Hamachi has a tool that disables most of the obvious vulnerabilities, but there's always harm to be done. Keep in mind that by connecting to a Hamachi network, you're basically taking every user in that network by the hand and leading them around your firewall and router.
If you're worried about people on a Hamachi network accessing Windows shares just uncheck File and Printer sharing in the connection properties.
