• No Ordinary Family -- The new "Heroes"?

So basically, it's a new ABC show coming out (on September 28, 2010) that revolves around a family who gain special abilities after a plane crash. With the cancellation of Heroes, this could very well be the replacement. It has two recognizable (and big) stars so far, and that's Julie Benz from Dexter and Michael Chiklis from The Shield.
The Powells are about to go from ordinary to extraordinary. After 16 years of marriage, Jim and Stephanie’s relationship lacked the spark it once had, and their family life now consists of balancing work and their two children; leaving little time for family bonding. During a family vacation set up by Jim in an attempt to reconnect, their plane crashes into the Amazon River. But this is where the fun starts for the Powells as they soon discover that something’s not quite right. Each of them now possesses unique and distinct super powers. But saving and savoring their family life will be equally important as they try to find purpose for their new power and embark on a journey to find out what defines and unifies them. The Powells are a totally relatable family that happens to be a little bit amazing.

On May 12, 2010, Entertainment Weekly reported that ABC had picked up the series for the 2010–11 television season. A few days later, Chuck writer and executive producer Allison Adler announced that she would be joining the show's writing team. At the end of May, it was reported that Smallville writers Darren Swimmer and Todd Slavkin had also been recruited for the writing team.
Thought I'd let people know about this show since I haven't seen much about it around. There is a pilot somewhere around in the internet but I haven't actually managed to find it.
Heroes got cancelled?
Yeah. They might make a 2 hour movie or something to wrap it up. Definitely no longer a TV show, though. [editline]12:50PM[/editline] (heroes)
That's good. Although it looked the next season was FINALLY going to end it.
"I have a lair." "With Wi-Fi" *Highfive*
Looks way better than heroes! The characters are actually balanced. Please god don't make it so that EVERY SINGLE PERSON THEY ENCOUNTER ALSO HAVE BEEN IN THE SAME WATER! [editline]05:07PM[/editline]
"I have a liar." "With Wi-Fi" *Highfive*
Lair*
So what's the boy's ability again?
So what's the boy's ability again?
super smart.
seeing as it's abc it might go in a good direction and get cancelled or either go the lost way and go completely nowhere and be a fuckton of what the fuck is this shit.
seeing as it's abc it might go in a good direction and get cancelled or either go the lost way and go completely nowhere and be a fuckton of what the fuck is this shit.
Agreed. Lost was trippy up to season 3, then it was like trying to comprehend a slurry of random codes being wired directly to your brain.
Doesn't seem too similar to heroes other then they have powers, seems to be a lot less serious. When the plane was crashing i thought it was going to be something like LOST + Heroes.
I didn't like how heroes ended. That last episode sucked. Oh well. Maybe this will fill the void. But I can see this having a lot of "Oh silly bob, finish your dinner then apologize for throwing that car". I hope it doesn't have any cheesy humor like that. If it doesn't then it might be okay.
the incredibles: the real life TV show
This actually looks pretty good. Hopefully it doesn't like take itself too seriously. For some reason it reminds me of Reaper.
Oh wow, I stopped watching Heroes months ago. Never knew it got cancelled.
The special effects look better in this.
Super intelligent, read minds, super speed, invincibility and super-strength? Sounds like everyone but the dad got the short end of the stick when it comes to super powers.
So, it's kind of like a live-action series of 'The Incredibles'? I just wonder what exactly they plan to do with the series. May keep an eye out for it; since Lost is ending, Flashforward may get cancelled, I can never seem to catch Happy Town, and V is the only show I would have to watch.
I hope the pilot becomes like a super villain
This better be good, I will miss heroes :frown:
from where do i know that kid [editline]07:50PM[/editline] young kirk in star trek [editline]07:52PM[/editline] and the girl is the daughter of catherine willows in csi
Good be really good. Or REALLY bad. But I want it to be good.
We haven't seen the others yet, I know one of them on the plane was some kind of villian type dude just for twists and kicks.
Looks like a cheesy drama. I like cheesy dramas. Hence my love of Doctor Who.
Hero's the show was good though fucking bastards. :argh:
Hope it doesn't turn into a melodrama. I know the kids will have teen angst trying to hide their secret, etc. They properly exploit like the boy might be getting bullied, looks like the bullies will have a change of heart. I can see these kinds of storytelling a mile away. But yes, I believe a main villian got caught into that river, some villians from out nowhere will try to exploit it and get their powers, some shit like that. Thinking too far ahead. First they need suits to hide their identity.. lol.
Holy shit that is the guy from Blades of Glory and Forty Year Old Virgin. He is much more bigger.
How is their an african american in the family of Caucasian people? :eyebrowraise:
A friend perhaps?
Sounds interesting. Reminds me a little of Kyle XY.
