I installed a 2.5 500gb Samsung 850 evo SSD into my laptop, however no matter what slot it goes into it wont show up, nor in disk management to make it a drive, and i really could use that as it is going to be my high end game drive.

Bios shows im already in AHCI and it doesnt show in bios either, the drive is not faulty works fine on other machines.
What happens if you switch out the ssd and the primary drive?
What laptop do you have?
If it is a old one it may be because the speed of the port is configured higher than it can actually be, I've experienced this on some older laptops that only support up to 3Gb/s.
Check your BIOS for the set port speed.
