• Ten burglaries later, man erects fence. Has to take it down though as it might scare motorists
An electrician who spent £10,000 on a security fence after he was burgled ten times has been ordered him to take it down - because it might scare motorists. Graham Jaggar, 51, shelled out on the barrier after thieves relentlessly targeted his home over a two-month period. But he now claims council chiefs have told him to remove the fence in Dewsbury, West Yorks - because it posed a hazard to drivers. The grandfather says he was also previously threatened with arrest after erecting a warning sign to the thieves. He said: 'Over the last few years I've had around £30,000 worth of stuff stolen by these idiots. But now, he said a neighbour's complaint that it causes a blind spot has put his house at risk of being targeted again.
Source Pretty shitty of the neighbour to complain, probably could of sorted it out with each other without the council getting involved.
If they stole £30,000 worth of goodies they are anything but idiots.
Well GUESS who's the thief.
'From my old house, which I left because I thought I would be more secure in another property, I had a boat stolen, two cars, a motorbike and my daughter’s scooter. 'They have even stolen four or five wheelie bins - and one of them was full or rubbish. The boat had around £4,000 of work done on it. 'I reckon I have been bugled around 20 times over the past six years.'
Holy Shit. This is no way to live. I'd be suing the state at this point.

Anyone notice how ineffective the fence is? It doesn't wrap around. Let's just walk a few meters to the side and jump the waist high wall.
Maybe one of his neighbour's are the one doing it? Just a thought.
'It's mostly been expensive tools from this house, which means I can't work, and building materials. 'They have also stolen model aircrafts worth a few thousand pounds
Ok so if you cant have the fence, maybe you should invest in some worthwhile crime prevention. 3" dead bolts, strike plates, motion lights, etc.

The fence he put up would deter people from stealing those items, because the driveway is the only way to get them out. A car could ram through the gate, but it would leave identifying damage on the car's bumper.

Maybe he shouldnt be putting things in his driveway then if its been stolen before. Thats like putting your hand in a blender time after time. The same thing is going to happen. Learn from it.

You're contradicting yourself in this quest to be seen as smarter than the wealthy OP victim. Are you that insecure? [editline]6th January 2015[/editline] The concept of some council dictating what I do with my land is absurd.
How do you spend 10k on a fence and leave in such a humongous security hole?
Maybe it wasn't yet finished?
He should just put CCTV cameras and motion-activated floodlights around his property.
Just another day in Europe.
You will require planning permission for any new fence, gate or wall over 2m in height. This will normally include the addition of trellis panels on top of an existing fence if this takes the overall height to above 2m. This may technically also include the addition of wires and brackets to carry a climbing shrub, although this can sometimes be open to interpretation You do not require planning permission to grow a thorny plant along the top of your 2m fence (providing there are no support structures over 2 metres) unless there are covenants or restrictions. Check with your local planning authority. If the new fence or wall borders or adjoins a public highway used for vehicles you may need planning permission if it is higher than 1 metre If you live in an area, which has open planned front gardens there is likely to be a covenant restricting the erection of any fence or hedge to the front of the dwelling and you must therefore refer to the local planning authority before you carry out any work If you live in a listed building or your property borders a listed building then you may need planning permission before you carry out any work on your boundary fence or wall You do not normally need planning permission to plant a hedge, but you should check with the local planning authority first as you will have responsibilities to maintain the hedge so that it does not cause a nuisance to others. (See High hedges below) Before you carry out any work on your boundaries do check with the local planning authority first to see if there are any restrictions or if you need planning permission
are those people even people anymore or homo faggotus? (User was banned for this post ("Shitposting" - Big Dumb American))
Being a victim of theft like that is one of my worst nightmares, I really feel for this guy.
are those people even people anymore or homo faggotus?
Not that I agree with what they're doing, but it's understandable that people will turn to crime when austerity measures are put in place. More and more people aren't getting certain benefits anymore so they will turn to crime instead, it's to be expected unfortunately

Can't exactly drive a car over that bit of wall there, can you? Unless you want to damage it.
How do you spend 10k on a fence and leave in such a humongous security hole?
Probably because cars don't climb fucking walls last time I checked. Neither do boats.

Because their goddamn fences are literally just some wooden planks that a 5 year old could climb over.
I think he's referring to the council as "faggotus" for not taking a hard stance on theft.
no i am talking about tearing down fences because they "spook drivers"
