Microsoft mouse keeps turning on and off, and now i got error code 43 and it just turned off completely. I have a regular Microsoft 3-Button usb wired optical mouse. Recently it has started turning on and off, and now it gets error code 43 in the device manager. If I disconnect and reconnect it, it seems to work for a while then starts to turn on and off again and eventually gets error code 43 and turns off completely. I have tried to connect the mouse to other usb ports, and it happens in them all. Tried reinstalling and updating the usb and the mouse drivers. The strange thing is, when I connect that same mouse to a laptop, it looks like it works fine, no errors or nothing.
Happens with my logitech mouse and it's an year old. Normally it's just the batteries, if there fresh and new than it's either your USB ports (damaged), the signal is being affected by some sort of source or the mouse is buggered and you should buy a new one.

It's a wired mouse, not wireless. I'm not sure it's the mouse, because it works on my laptop as I said.

The cables go bad on mice after awhile. I assume you mean a mouse like this one? I had that mouse for awhile and the cable started going bad. If you turned it past a 30 degree radius it would disconnect. I'd invest in a Logitech mouse, I've had an MX310 for 3 years but it's outdated now, the cheapest Logitech MX mouse is the MX518, which is pretty large and receives extremely positive reviews. Any other Logitech mouse will do, but if you want a cheaper alternative, you can just buy another Microsoft mouse. In the end, the MX series mice are a lot more ergonomic and less prone to failure.

Ended up buying a new one (same thing) the old one i had for more than 3 years already, and it still seems to work on my laptop, no idea what happened there.
