So far I've only noticed this when I'm playing WoW and when the game is maximized. I'm using a Sennheiser PC350 headset, and even when I turn off ingame music and sound, I get this odd ringing/noise in my headset (its very quiet, but its still there). I when its not my imagination, as when I change sound settings ingame, it pauses for a second or two before resuming. The jacks are hooked up to the front port of my onboard soundcard on my ASUS P5Q, with the Realtek High Quality Audio device installed.
Is there any reason why this is happening? Thanks.
I can't remember the exact name for this phenomenon, but it's to do with poor cable quality. Front jacks are usually pretty shitty and you'll get ineference from the electrical components or something. Fuck, I don't know. Someone will know what I'm talking about and elaborate.
Try plugging directly in to the sound card, rather than the front of your case.
