No, this has nothing to do MW2, though STALKER has made me wonder about this. Pretend you have a gun with a underbarrel grenade launcher, and you loaded a grenade in. If you pointed it at the ground, would the grenade fall out of the launcher? Or is there some kind of mechanism that holds it in until the user pulls the trigger? I've been thinking about it, and I was wondering if anyone knew.
There's a mechanism which holds it in.
I'm assume it's something similar to whatever stops a chambered bullet from falling out.
They have a lib at the bottom of the cartridge which the shell separates from when fired. It works the same way for both bullets and the grenades.
The casing has a rim that holds it in the chamber. The casing is also usually a bit wider than the barrel, so when the smaller bullet is fired out, it will be pressed against all the sides, which helps it stick with the rifling, which spins the bullet to stabilize it. ^Thats not a grenade...
It goes into a grenade launcher, is 40mm, has the same build as a grenade, and displays how the casing stays inside the chamber as does a normal HE 40mm grenade though.
But still, its no grenade...
He didn't ask what a grenade looks like. He asked how the shell didn't fall out of a grenade launcher. [editline]04:45PM[/editline] Neither did the poster say it was one.
If you aim down in call of duty it doesn't fall out :downs: But seriously I think that they would realize that the grenade would fall out if there wasn't something to hold it back. Common sense.
But still, its no grenade...
The shell of a grenade houses the same way in the tube as this device does
Hnnng I know what you guys are trying to tell me. Im just so tired i didnt read it properly.
The device in the picture is a 40mm shotgun shell. [editline]07:52PM[/editline]
Hnnng I know what you guys are trying to tell me. Im just so tired i didnt read it properly.
Well maybe you shouldn't post when you are so tired you can't read properly. That way you won't get verbally raped all the time.
Oh no, somebody on the internet is telling me im bad at something!
Uhh, no he's not.
Ok
Uhh, no he's not.
Why are you still paying attention to the idiot? Like said before, the grenade is held in place.
Why are you such an asshole?
oh WHAT!?
But still, its no grenade...
Grenade launchers don't fire grenades, a grenade is what you throw at your enemy. You exspecting it to shoot a frag nade? [editline]01:02AM[/editline]
Why are you such an asshole?
If you can't take criticism, get out.
OP is probably wondering about this kind of launcher, I have no idea how this one works.
It doesn't matter MegaChalupa, because the grenade launches you
It doesn't matter MegaChalupa, because the grenade launches you
But what if its the chinese variation? Grenade Launcher gives you lead poisoning?
The GP34 (the underbarrel AK series grenade launcher) functions basically the same, with a couple twists. For one, the grenade is caseless. Just watched a video of a Russian soldier firing one in quick succession, he never had to tilt the barrel to remove the spent shell. So with this, I assume there's some sort of mechanism involving tension where you can drop it in easily but not get it out, without pressing a lever on the side of the grenade launcher. In the video, the lever is said to be "...used to remove unused shells." Same principle, just a tad more complicated.
