So, my question is how good a Athlon II X2 250 and a Gigabyte HD 5670 1gB would handle games such as Modern Warfare, mw2 and team fortress 2?
And would it be able to handle like metro Metro 2033 on decent settings?
All games to be ran at prefferably 1920x1080.
Thanks in advance.
I don't see how you need a 56701GB HDD.

What?

Me neither, hence why i never mentioned something like that.

Bad reading? Its obviously the gpu.

Then what's this.

OH THE IRONY
What should he use instead? It isnt like the 5670 is for gaming anyway, is it.
I would get at least a HD5770, OP.
Then what's this.
Gigabyte HD 5670 1gB.
Google it perhaps?
Also, not asking about better parts, asking how well they will handle these games on rather high settings.
Then what's this.
proof that you are more dense than iron
Anyway, back on topic. On that resolution modern games aren't going to run very well
How about modern warfare one and two? I looked up some benchmarks for that game, with that card, and according to those it seems to be able to run it at highest settings on a decent fps of 40.
I'd say it will run for around 2-3 hours. After that it won't be able to run games anymore, sorry

Is a 1 GB ati GPU from the HD5*** series.
OP:
-You will run TF2 maxxed out easily.
-Mw2 without AA (not that you need it on that resolution) Shaders may need to be lowered tough)
-Metro 2033 will run on medium high. (you can really tweak this game to look its best because alot can be set on max without noticing any change in framerate.)

MW2 will run okay but it will struggle with anything more challenging:

These benchmarks are a optimistic as they are done with an i7 930 @ 3.0GHz
I don't think Metro 2033 would run especially good no matter what settings you use.
I played Metro 2033 on medium-high @ 1920x1080 with a 4850, 512mb. 4850 for 100$ is a good deal, and getting a 5xxx to get a 5xxx isn't always the best choice

The 4850 performs a good deal better than the 5670, so I don't think it'll be very playable either way.
Don't call computer hardware components, the real man word for them is Specifications.
And, you could play pretty well, proberally on medium most games, x4 AA.

components is the correct term
and no, what are you on
if he was trying to play at 1280x1024 or lower maybe
Modarn Warfar yes, TF2 yes, Metro 2033 Prepare for a shit storm.
Well I'm not really planning on playing metro anyways, just took it as an example of a very demanding game.
Thanks a lot for the help and information.

The computer is build out of components, and not specifications.
Obviously.

But oh, another question, how well would it preform in bad company 2?
bad company 2?
bc2 is VERY cpu oriented. in regards to your 250, it might not be enough. for the 5670, maybe it would run at 1024x768? 1280x1024?
I have an amd 240 overclocked to 3.5Ghz, and a 4770. even at lower resolutions, i seem to get the same framerate, all the way to 1920x1080. it stays around 25-40, 15 for the really intensive spots, like 2 tanks firing plus a lot of smoke and 15 guys fighting in the same area.
When you change resolution and framerate doesn't really change, yup that's a sign you're CPU limited.
The game would run, but I doubt it'd be playable/fun.

and yeah i didn't mention bottleneck

My god you're stupid.
The specs on OPs build are okay.. the 5670 can be good for medium setting games, and the Athlon II X2 250 should do fine. Can't really see the harm.
Don't forget, you can always upgrade the CPU if it is bottlenecking your GPU.
My god you're stupid.
Doing a good job to spot the trolls I see.
It is mainly just the parts i got temporarily and pretty much for free.
I first only needed a RAM upgrade for photoshop work, but then i got the opportunity to upgrade the cpu and gpu to, these components and a motherboard which supports all these componens, i do not remember the exact model of the mobo tho.
Well yeah, thanks for all the help and information, once again.
