The piece appeared on a building on the A20 in Kent overnight.
I can't wait for it to be either painted over or carved out of the wall to be sold at auction.
gee a member is leaving the eu, so it's like removing a star from the flag? no shit. very deep and meaningful
gee a member is leaving the eu, so it's like removing a star from the flag? no shit. very deep and meaningful
In this case we're talking about something people walk past. The more obvious the meaning, the more people it will reach.
gee a member is leaving the eu, so it's like removing a star from the flag? no shit. very deep and meaningful
The meaning isn't that the star is getting removed, it's who it's getting removed by.
How did the confirm it as Banksy?
The meaning isn't that the star is getting removed, it's who it's getting removed by.
Definitely this. I immediately thought of it as representative of the fact that the EU is going to move on without the UK. Although the UK left the EU, they will be the ones being left behind as the union persists, if it does in the present global climate.
At least this is better than a pineapple...
Every piece of art should be deep and meaningful so people on very high horses can ponder with their big, smart brains the deeper meanings behind the picture. Or maybe not, since it's a pretty nice piece even if it's pretty straight forward
I think people are more annoyed by the fact that most of Banksy's work is pretty obvious in its meaning and he rarely has an original message throughout anything.
The meaning isn't that the star is getting removed, it's who it's getting removed by.
A blue collar worker belonging to the working class..? All I'm seeing is a star being removed from the EU flag symbolizing the UK leaving, but outside of that, nothing really special in terms of who's removing the star.
I thought it was common knowledge that most modern political art is just 'clickbait' sensationalist art
