Hi
My harddrive is about to die and i am getting a new one probably one with some more space but i want to mirror my old one so i have all my stuff ready and done. I will also erase everything of my old harddrive and install linux on it just for fun. As i understund this should not be a problem and there is a lot of freeprograms for it but is it something speciell the program need to be able to do this and is it hard to do.
thanks in advance
I tried this, and it's harder than it seems. In the end, I just had to start fresh on my new one with my old becoming the secondary.
I know there are programs, but finding one that won't fuck it up is the thing. The OS doesn't like to be mirrored, or at least in my case it didn't.
Do a fresh install and copy your stuff across, you'l get that lovely fresh feeling and speed up from a new install.
You can back up all your settings and files with windows easy transfer if you want too go for a fresh install.
