Should New Users Be Restricted From Posting Threads?

There was a feature like this on the adult swim boards once, where if your post count was under 100 or you joined within 3 weeks, you could not post threads only posts.
Reasoning; Every day we all see threads that have little creativity or thought put into them, and for some odd reason they end up just being 'Flame the retard' threads, which solves very little of the problem.
If you vote no, post your reasoning.
Well, it's not like the "older" user's threads are much better.
No.
Plenty of those threads are by people with 100, 500, or 1000+ posts.

Good idea
No, older is not necessarily better
example is dryer lint
No, the gmod section would be absolutely empty.
part of the fun of facepunch is all the shit threads new users make so no
I have made plenty of shit threads and I am an 05er, the length of time you have been on this forum doesn't make your post/thread quality better.
I think we actually see more shitposts from old users than new.
I think we should go back to where you needed a minimum of 10(?) posts to post a thread. And add a thing that can allow new accounts to post threads by linking them to a main account(for like gmod addon release accounts).

how the hell are the little kids that join to ask for help in the Gmod section going to do that then?
Back in 2006, I first came here for help, which necessitated creating a thread. Take away this ability, and many will leave, frustrated by their inability to find direct answers to their specific question.
New users make threads that are either obvious or stupid. Old users make threads because they're obvious or stupid.
Both can be bad, but putting a restriction on it won't help the matter. It's best to have them learn through touch-love on how to make threads. That, or they can read the rules to assist them.
Just you bigbad
Maybe for GD, but nowhere else.
yes. less shit threads
I am low post count, and I got half of facepunch free shit in 07
Back in '08, was the 500 posts needed for threads overall, or just Custom Forum sections?
Users must edit their profile, as in, set up a homepage, avatar, steam account, email, etc. and post so many times (250+ or something) posts before making a thread.
Yes. It'l stop the 1 post spammers.
Well, it's not like the "older" user's threads are much better.
My first thought.
Especially... Firerain. Oh God Firerain.

500 posts to make a custom forum.

Adult Swim fans don't join the forum to make a thread about their Gmod problems. Remember that FP is only popular because of Gmod, and it's a growing community. Don't extinguish the flame.

well 250 may be a bit to high, 100 would be around a maximum for a requirement to post a simple thread.
They should have to make 10 posts to make a thread, so they can't just leech of our information to just leave us.
Then again, then we'd get heaps of shitposts like "lol dat's kool" 10 times so they can make their thread asking "HOW DUZ I INSTALL ADDONS ON GMOD?" on our GD.
If such an idea were implemented, post count would need to be extremely low. There are people as far back as '05 that have less than 500 posts. If anything, make it for GD, and set it that you need to have been here at least a month or so. Besides that, the rest of the forum should be open.
No, but topic creators should be restricted from capitalizing each word in the title.
recaptcha for posting a new thread. It's required in the refugee camp already.
Stop spammers, help Gmod players.
Just because I have a low post count doesn't mean I make shitty threads
of course they shouldn't, that's just annoying.
