To me this seems like a really dirty tactic. Get other people watching in hopes of winning something until they get so sick of not winning that they buy boxes themselves.

Damn, kinda works like a casino.
that's so unbelievably tacky
why the fuck would you want emotes in a fast paced pvp game where you die from two bullets
The final step before they convert the COD franchise into a line of pachinko machines.
I'm almost more frustrated with the gamers that eat this shit up because these people are rewarding shit behavior by studios. Still, it's not entirely the fault of gamers, people legitimately develop gambling addictions of all types.
Gambling should never be injected into AAA.

Emotes are for end of round gloating when it shows top players afaik
Hey, wasn't WWII like the bloodiest conflict in history or something? *proceeds to dab over my opponent's grave, using my brand new Platinum Tier emote from opening my 591st lootbox*
I feel like a game about WWII should have a bit more tact to it than loot boxes and gaudy skins. The previous WWII titles in the franchise were great, this just looks like a reskin of everything they've released for the past five years.
