Only a dirty diaper, fleas and dirt covered his flesh. His feeding tube was discolored and disconnected from his body. His two younger brothers were found locked in other rooms inside the home. They too were covered in urine, feces and fleas. Poertner's mother told NewsChannel 3 she believed her daughter couldn't handle taking care of the boys on her own. "She's not a damn monster period she just got overwhelmed," says Poertner's mother. She adds "I think she was trying to prove that she could do it on her own and it got to be too much". Poertner's husband Mark was in court today but said he didn't want to talk to the media about any of this. The children are with his parents in the Midwest. Poor kids, that's absoulutely awful. And the fact her mum is supporting her is ridiculous. "She's not a damn monster period she just got overwhelmed," says Poertner's mother. I mean come on, if it were that difficult I'm sure she could have contacted relatives for help.

So she was supposedly under a lot of pressure, with the father away in the Navy, 3 keeps, I don't know how much money, let alone do I know her or have I met her, I can't judge. But she still killed his kid, and is probably guilty of other charges, and she will be punished.
