Today I was backing up a bunch of stuff so I could reinstall Windows. As I was copying some stuff to my D: drive, I got an input/ouput error and couldn't copy anything else over. So I restarted my computer hoping it would help, but it just made things worse. Now as long as my D: drive is plugged in, my computer comes to a crawl and I still can't access it or do much of anything.
I tried getting to it using the Ultimate Boot CD and kinda had some luck there, but it wasn't very useful. I got a message about the file system being damaged or something like that. Is there anything I can do to either fix the drive or get my files back?
You may want to check the drive's S.M.A.R.T. status and then go from there.

It's comin' up good. I'm gonna try to get a USB adapter or something and see if that'll work.
