If this turns out to be real and just a remaster of the 1st game it'd seem pretty useless. The graphics weren't even bad in the first game, the environments were just dull and there were hardly any facial animations on the NPCs.
It's probably just a port with graphics more on par with the PC version.
Feels like they're milking the franchise more than anything
If they truly remastered the first Borderlands to be on-par engine wise with Borderlands 2 (or better) that'd be quality.
I hope they remaster the memes and add brand new memes
Unless they are selling Borderlands 1's story with Borderlands 2's gameplay (which id totally buy) then I dont really see a reason as to why a remaster is necessary

I'd call it useless if it was being remade for PS3, X360 and PC again.
I hope they remaster the memes and add brand new memes
All one of them
Not sure why? The first one stands up on it's own pretty well still and I imagine everyone who wanted the first game would have bought it by now
I hate this new "remastering" fad. The only good ones have been TLOU and GTAV because they're... well they're barely remasters, they're ports. Nobody was clamoring for a remake of BL1, this is just an attempt to create money out of thin air.

Instead, i bought borderlands 2 and pre-sequel (but didn't buy bl1, and it makes me feel guilty) (User was banned for this post ("Warez" - Orkel))

Not all remasters are bad....just like not all of them are good.
Don't know about you but I'm loving the shit out of my Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remaster. And the other is when you have games released a year ago (or 2-3) and already has an "hd remaster"
Nobody was clamoring for a remake of BL1, this is just an attempt to create money out of thin air.
Fans of the series want a remake. Just look at the Gearbox forums. People have been wanting a remake since Borderlands 2 released. No, there aren't constant articles on gaming journalism websites where people beg Gearbox to descend from the heavens and give them a pretty Borderlands 1. But there are fans. And they're giving the fans what they want. Same shit when they kept doing DLC after the season pass ended for Borderlands 2. Everyone on here said they were milking, people on the Gearbox forums were asking for more.
Well at least they're admitting they're just rehashing it now.
Would be proper remastered if they could get Borderlands 2 PhysX effects to consoles.
Nobody complained when Deep Silver did this with Metro Redux, though? Is it only okay when it's something you personally like?
No, it's okay when it feels like there's some actual reasoning for it. The Metro series is known for being graphically intensive in the first place, and Redux made them look even better while also (apparently) making them run better, as well as adding some new features. Kingdom Hearts HD Remix adds final mix content, completely re-done music, another game, and cutscenes from another game nobody actually gives a shit about. So what the hell could Borderlands Remastered possibly give us? It's not from a previous generation, so a graphical upgrade wouldn't mean much unless it was something really, really significant. The only thing I can think of that would make it worth it is if they somehow overhauled the whole game to make it less boring in comparison to 2.
No, it's okay when it feels like there's some actual reasoning for it. The Metro series is known for being graphically intensive in the first place
That's not an actual reason.

I hate it when a game is barely a year old and a remaster is announced. Its not a remaster, its a god damned port. At least TLOU was kind enough to give us 1080p/60fps on the PS4.
That's not an actual reason.
How is it not an actual reason? My point is that visuals and atmosphere are a big part of the Metro games to begin with, so an overhaul is actually a big deal for them. Who cares about the visuals/atmosphere of Borderlands? They're more about visual style than fidelity, so why would it matter that the first game is getting remastered unless they're doing something really drastic with it?
Yeah, I have to agree with that. I hate it when a game is barely a year old and a remaster is announced.
Well this is five years old. And assuming they're actually remastering it (like updating the gameplay, etc), I don't see how it's an issue. Even then, it's too soon to judge considering this was a leak from a classification board. There are literally no details about this. At all.
the other day when i was in the kitchen the spice rack fell on my head and i slipped briefly into unconsciousness. when i came back around i had a vision of a borderlands mmo with extensive character customisation, weapon crafting, pvp and endgame raids. i feel like it might be where the borderlands universe ends up in five or six years and i can't help but wonder if cash grabs like this are actually efforts to fund such an undertaking. prolly just me being optimistic/slightly concussed tho.
weapon crafting, pvp
then it sure as hell wasn't Borderlands
then it sure as hell wasn't Borderlands
Borderlands has pvp, sure it don't have weapon crafting but this guy isn't talking about a real game
If they're bringing it up to PS4 / Xbone, it had better keep the gore system. I miss being able to dismember the enemy or see the more violent deaths that happened with fire or corrosion. Borderlands 2 doesn't have dismemberments, and the elemental deaths don't feel as violent anymore.
They're bringing the game to consoles that don't support the current version. I don't see what's wrong with that. Hopefully they don't try and charge $60 for it, though. [editline]12th December 2014[/editline] Assuming this is for xbone/ps4, that is. I guess we don't really know that for sure.

Meanwhile, Duke Nukem gets neglected completely.
