The brother of slain Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich wrote a letter on Tuesday to the executive producer of Sean Hannity's Fox News show pleading with him to find "decency and kindness" in his heart and stop spreading an unproven conspiracy theory about the unsolved murder.
"Think about how you would feel losing a son or brother. And while dealing with this, you had baseless accusations of your lost family member being part of a vast conspiracy," Aaron Rich wrote in the letter to "Hannity" executive producer Porter Berry, a copy of which was provided to CNN.
"As the family, we would hope to be the first people to learn about any such evidence and reasons for Seth's death," he added. "It is a travesty that you would prompt false conspiracy theories and other people's agendas rather than work with the family to learn the truth."
Rich was shot to death last July in the streets of Washington, DC. The Metropolitan Police Department continues to investigate the murder and police say there is evidence to suggest Rich was the victim of a botched robbery.
But for months, right-wing media outlets have floated unproven theories that Rich was the person who provided Wikileaks with thousands of internal DNC emails, and suggested his death was retribution for the supposed leak. No real evidence has been provided to support such claims.
This ought to be a good test of Hannity's character.
One I do, of course, expect him to fail miserably. Notable: even staffers at Fox News are disgusted by FOX, Hannity and co. peddling the story.

Hannity has never had 'character' lmao. Remember all those times he continually disparaged black kids who got shot by cops, went after their families to find any sliver of evidence of their wrongdoing?

Absolutely I do. It was sort of a rhetorical test, where if he does it, he might count as slightly more than a monocellular waste of respect and everyone's time.
Except it doesn't get rid of every other bad thing he did so fuck him honestly whatever happens
They'll just brush his family off as compromised somehow because the guy representing the family has some DNC ties
On May 16, a story was posted on the Fox News website on the investigation into the 2016 murder of DNC Staffer Seth Rich. The article was not initially subjected to the high degree of editorial scrutiny we require for all our reporting. Upon appropriate review, the article was found not to meet those standards and has since been removed.
We will continue to investigate this story and will provide updates as warranted.
I look forward to hearing him bitch about it on the way home. I end up muscling through his crap until Erick Erickson starts at 6. Yeah he's also crazy but he's a shitton more reasonable than Sean "fuck me harder assange" Hannity.
Hannity is essentially a sociopath along with a lot of the other Fox goons, I don't see this stopping him.
Sean on the radio this afternoon: "I Am Not FoxNews.com ; I RETRACTED NOTHING!”

In a statement to Business Insider on Wednesday, Brad Bauman, a spokesperson for the Rich family, thanked investigators and implored high-profile figures to stop attempting to politicize Rich's death by perpetuating unfounded theories about the shooting.
Sounds like they're asking you to stop, you idiot. And now the brother is personally asking you to stop. But you don't stop, because you don't care about Seth Rich, you care about kicking up dirt on the DNC. You're doing the exact opposite of what they want.
Fuck you Hannity.

Hannity, your "thoughts and prayers" mean jack fuckin shit.
I wonder if he'll get axed over this since the higher ups want it to stop. Normally I wouldn't suggest that but O'Reilly got fired earlier this year.
but also it probably depends if advertisers start pulling out.
How do these fuckers get away with this horseshit? This would not be tolerated here. Neither would that fucker Alex Jones.

Right wing echo chamber is stronk

From an old Rolling Stone interview with Jon Stewart:
Do you think O'Reilly believes everything he says, or does he sometimes just say what he thinks his viewers want to hear?
I think he comes by his views honestly. I can't say I find him to be disingenuous. I just think that, in general, the right has moved so far out in that direction that O'Reilly appears to be almost a Kennedy Democrat by this point. Sean Hannity is probably the most loathsome dude over there. That's just pure cynicism, and it's horrible. Everything is presented in as devious a manner as it could be possibly be presented.
Anybody remember his piece on Obama ordering dijon mustard?

I kind of doubt it because after he's gone, who's left? I don't think Tucker Carlson can keep the network afloat by himself.
Unless it's a mass exodus like O'Reily, they can find new advertisers to replace the ones who leave if the ratings stay good.
They've fallen to third since O'Reily left, and with Hannity gone, they'll only tank farther. The advertisers will be gone anyway if the ratings are terrible.

Honestly the best thing about this is that Obama speaks exactly the same whether he's addressing the nation or ordering a burger.
I remember hearing about that mustard thing around the time it came out but I thought hannity was joking about legit criticizing obama over that. I dunno anymore

Well, nevermind then
Whats up with Fox and employing horrible pieces of shit? Other news networks catch shit for hiring biased people, or ignorant people, but neither CNN nor MSNBC nor CBS nor CNBC come close to matching Fox News' "Shitbag employee of the month" record.

CNN had Piers Morgan host his own show for an inexplicably long amount of time.
CNN had Piers Morgan host his own show for an inexplicably long amount of time.
I'd throw Piers Morgan into the dumbass pile instead of the "malicious dickbag" pile reserved for people like Carlson and Hannity.

Piers jumped on the opportunity to milk tragedy just like they do. He's just as bad.
Piers jumped on the opportunity to milk tragedy just like they do. He's just as bad.
Piers Morgan using a series of school shootings to push the "guns are bad narrative, and Sean Hannity using the murder of a DNC staffer to push the narrative that he was assassinated by the DNC and his family is in on the coverup are fundamentally different levels of douchebaggery in my opinion.
[editline]23rd May 2017[/editline]
And even if you want to throw Piers in my point still remains that Fox News employs generally more assholes than other news networks do.

How it's it what "the family wants and deserves" when they've explicitly told him to stop?
How it's it what "the family wants and deserves" when they've explicitly told him to stop?
Because the family deserves the truth! The truth as Hannity sees it!
He knows, deep deep down, there's a little mini-Hannity in all of them; he's just trying to give the poor guy a voice.
