The experience at the moment is like the DK2 in terms of latency, so very very good. The resolution is better than the DK2, but it's only 60hz compared to DK2's 75hz so you can see the flickering in bright areas when using GearVR.
I really hope that the Oculus Rift will eventually have 120hz or 144hz in terms of refresh rate. It would probably make the experience feel amazing.

Carmack says they have very low access to the metal on the smartphone. Using timewarp they can fill in missing frames with warped old frames to make up for performance dips. Your game could run at 30 fps, but still show 60 moving frames per second.
They're still working on getting a similar features on PC.
I hope they use that on PC for the same sorts of performance increases... Even a 15FPS boost to help with the 75fps requirement could be massively beneficial.
