The graphics and controls weren't the only problem.
It's a poor port in general for a decent game.
This could have been avoided if they had made it compatible with the DX:HR engine.
I can't believe I wasted money on it, I quit after 10 minutes

I doubt it's that simple.
The Game Design choices really don't mesh well back to PC.
It shouldn't have been released on PC in my opinion, it was broken in nature.

Its really not that simple considering the hardware they have to work with, it must have been a nightmare.
How about this.
Why release it on fucking tablets? Why not make The Fall, cut all of this mobile bullshit and made it a PC Standalone title.
It would have been a good idea to build from DE:HR.
is this that game with the hilarious recoil?

"Recoil"
It was more like, change the fov back a little bit to show that oh the gun did something.

Except the port fucked up and "a little bit" became a flashback of the controllers in STALKER
You don't have to have high expectations to find this port shit.

It was just supposed to be something to play while waiting for the next main installment.

Pictured : high expectations
No, expectations are not high. You just made a shitty, gimped version of Deus Ex for Mobile (because that's how mobile works, you have to gut shit in order for it to be playable on phones) and didn't bother changing anything.
Here's an idea square enix. You wanna listen to it? Come closer. No seriously, come closer.

"Expectations are really high"
"They wanted us to actually put effort into porting when all we had to do was shit out a lazy port and call it a day"
[QUOTE=kaze4159;44858518]Except the port fucked up and "a little bit" became a flashback of the controllers in STALKER[/QUOTE]A tiny FOV change on firing is not bad like metro does, but when it's to that degree, what the hell?

Mobile can handle something on scale with Deus Ex 1, and at $10 they should of delivered on that, as DX1 is $7 on Steam. Hell, The Fall was $7 on release, but then bumped up when the PC port came out.

As a consumer you have the right to complain if the goods you buy are subpar or broken altogether. You shouldn't be grateful for buying crap.

In order for DX1 to be on mobile they'd have to gut a ton of shit out. I guarantee you. Because PC games to mobile doesn't translate well. I don't know who in their right mind thought mobile to PC would translate well but, whoever they were, they're a bunch of dumbasses.
They should've remade the game on DXHR's engine instead of porting it.
[editline]20th May 2014[/editline]
Or maybe not do a mobile game to begin with.

Many Android devices these days can run it, and all the iOS devices it supports can handle that.
Square is just a bunch of lazy bastards, doing minimal work to make their mobile games.
Their JRPG ports are usually horrible abomination forms of the original.
GTA games run just fine, and are adapted for mobile, instead of lazily slapping on a touch controller.

I'm not talking about performance. I'm talking about gameplay, controls, the UI interface. All that stuff has to be gimped and gutted for it to work properly on mobile. And it sucks.

Deus Ex 1 wasn't exactly Mechwarrior. If the running and shooting works then that's pretty much 99% of it right there.
I knew the port was gonna be shit but i still got it. Mainly for the extra story.

The Fall doesn't cut out a lot, it does it's best to bring HR's gameplay to mobile with a few changes. The player could tweak the controls to better fit individual players.
The in game store can fuck off, as well as a lack of proper inventory, not even the people who like the iOS version like those changes to the gameplay.
DX: The Fall could be improved on touch to make it a full Deus Ex experience that fits in your pocket, and it would of worked great on PCs if N-Fusion had put effort into it. I still don't know how changing the input method completely fucked up everything else.
[editline]20th May 2014[/editline]
Also N-Fusion should change their name because I keep getting them mixed up with N-Space, another studio that makes portable installments of popular games. :v:
It's not that expectations are high.
The problem is that the game is bloody awful, even when compared with the first Deus Ex, which is considered very flawed by nowadays standards.
No one had expectations for this shit the second it was announced as a mobile game.
