I'm always fascinated what it is about modern "betas" where there are suddenly huge balance changes that are needing to be made, for what is essentially a finished title. It's as if they have never sat a bunch of people in the same room, playtested it, and saw what worked best was prone to abuse etc etc.

You can have a small group play a game, not find anything glaringly wrong, then when it comes time to release the game players are metagaming the shit out of it in ways you wouldn't even think of.
