This just in: Apparently Imageshack is A shit Image Host - General

If you want to host some funny, serious, or just plain random images, do not go directly to imageshack. Imageshack is a "shit host" as said by most Facepunchers. Most FP'ers recommend using other image hosts, like: Photobucket Imagekk Filesmelt And others. Imageshack is shit because there are longer loading times, a bad user-interface, not smooth, and ugly. And there are watermarks. And black bars. Image hosts like those have a more user-friendly image submitting process, without ugly watermarks. And they aren't hacked as of now, like Imageshack. So, if you want a good user-experience while getting the most out of your images, do NOT use Imageshack. It sucks. That's 50% of Facepunch's opinion. I've always used photobucket, mostly just because it seems reliable since it's so big and not annoying like Imageshack is.

You still haven't mentioned why it sucks other than "it's shit".

If you get ads under your images when hosting things on imageshack it's because you didn't use the direct link.

I use imageshack. I don't really give a shit about trivial things like that.

That's why you don't use their stupid links. Learn how to post direct to the image, like you should. No stupid advertisements. I use it because it's quick and I don't need to load my entire album or wait for a log in.

Tinypic also works.

I use majhost. It's remnant of my Bionicle days (although they're still :razz:) and it's just plain awesome.

Imageshack is great It's fast and simple for when you just need to upload images to show to a few people or for a forum I have never seen these advertisements you mention either. All you need to do is copy the direct link to the image.

HA HA HA HA, Photobucket fucking sucks ass. They resize your images and whenever you click a link to an image, it always fucking redirects you to their site and never the actual image.

I stopped using it since Filesmelt was started, it's bare bones and effective.

you get those ads when you direct copy their embed code, which you probably use to embed images on your myspace profile. before you say its shit, actually learn how to embed correctly. if you don't know how to embed off the bat or are too lazy to delete the line of code that puts that ad under your image, you shouldn't be embedding pictures in the first place. I've used imageshack for a long while now. It sucks that half the shit I had on there is now this. Most of the crap I don't have on my computer anymore either.
