It's been seven years since the last Banjo-Kazooie game, but new indie studio Playtonic Games plans to fill that void with its upcoming "Project Ukulele," a spiritual successor to the series. The latest issue of EDGE magazine features an interview with Playtonic, a team comprised of former Rare designers. They currently have six people on staff, though they hope to increase that number over time. Apparently Playtonic already has funding for the game, though they don't rule out the possibility of working with a publisher. In fact, they specifically mention Nintendo in the interview and say, "There's a history of working with Nintendo so we'd naturally love to see our game on a Nintendo platform." Playtonic plans to release "Project Ukulele" on Steam Early Access and consoles as well. There are no further details at the moment, though fans will likely want to keep an eye on the studio's recently launched website.
It was a small article so I just posted the entire article. I just want a Banjo-Kazooie game :<
I just want a Banjo-Kazooie game :<
Never gunna happen, though this is the next best thing.
Please do. Whenever I see some kind of either Banjo-Kazooie or Banjo-Tooie gameplay, I feel so nostalgic. They were, and are, fantastic games.
Maybe if it's good enough, Nintendo could hire them to do another Donkey Kong title.
Wonder if Jontron would get a guest appearance.

A knock off banjo kazooie would be nice, if not desperately needed.
What happened to that one project with the witch girl and shit. I think it was composed by Grant Kirkhope. I heard something about that year or 2 back but nothing since. [editline]10th February 2015[/editline] fiona frightening, that's what it was called. [editline]10th February 2015[/editline] Never mind, it was never funded and seems to be a lost cause. Anyway, this new thing looks promising enough. Hopefully it'll have the aforementioned Kirkhope as a part of it.
Anyone know what's happening with that Hat in Time game? Haven't heard anything about it for a while.
Pretty sure that was not rare members, just some of the music
Anyone know what's happening with that Hat in Time game? Haven't heard anything about it for a while.
Development is still going. Though some people speculate using an episode system was a mistake. Also some people won't go near it because mecha was involved.
Also some people won't go near it because mecha was involved.
Who is Mecha?
Fuck that, we need moar Perfect Dark!
Looks like Toothless
why does he look like a fucking old man in this picture [editline]12th February 2015[/editline]
Wonder if Jontron would get a guest appearance.
jon's actually in a game that's doing the 3d platformer gameplay style, A Hat In Time. also Grant Kirkhope does part of the music in it! also i do work on it shameless plug
Guess what guys, its Nuts and Bolts 2
I played N&B and thought it was okay. Obviously a disgrace to the original games, but i never played those, and it certainly wasn't that bad either...
Anyone know what's happening with that Hat in Time game? Haven't heard anything about it for a while.
Their website isn't updated a whole lot, but they have a rather active twitter. [editline]12th February 2015[/editline]
Who is Mecha?
Someone who leaked a buncha stuff about maxofs2d -even made a website that was pretty much Maxisdumb.com- and caused a huge shitstorm over said Frenchmen and rebacus leaving the tf2 community that mecha started up. This was all before max was a huge feminist and badmin.
Guess what guys, its Nuts and Bolts 2
We already have a Nuts & Bots 2 and it's great. [t]http://cloud-4.steamusercontent.com/ugc/540763513370191983/593DB819F544C49D7EC75284A3CE3E440A7FF31A/[/t]
An indie studio composed of some former Rareware staff? Shit, I hope they can get David Wise to score something somewhere along the line.
Very excited to see what they have cooked up. Their facebook page is teasing they have Grant Kirkhope, Steven Burke, and David Wise collabing on the soundtrack for their game. Crossing my fingers this comes to WiiU, there's been an empty hole in my heart waiting for Banjo-Threeie ever since it was teased in Banjo-Tooie's ending. Even if this isn't a Banjo game, just seeing something from most of the original staff excites me, I'm very optimistic and struggling to be cautious about this. Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie are games I hold very dear to me, it feels like I've been waiting a long time for something like this to happen.
