• Sager Gaming Notebooks?

Just a quick question, would the Sager NP8690 laptop with the lowest specs (so it stays in my budget) be worth buying? Or can I get a similar deal with more battery life? I'm going no higher than the cost of the Sager, and I want to try to keep the GPU all pretty and shit. So, any suggestions, or should I stick with it?
Gaming Mobility Pick 1
In short, I just wanna know if I'm going out and buying shit and I can get something better for cheaper/same price. [editline]09:53PM[/editline] You broke my automerge, and I'm going with gaming. And no, I can't get a desktop, because my parents are divorced and I go back and forth.
what is the cost of the sager? Your best bet would be an ASUS laptop, really
Gaming Mobility Pick 1
It's Cheap Gaming Portable Pick 2.
what is the cost of the sager? Your best bet would be an ASUS laptop, really
The Sager's about $1,300.
Gaming Mobility Pick 1
It's; Gaming Cheap Mobility Pick 2. You can get gaming laptops, but it requires a ton of shit and proper ones costs a fortune.
It's Cheap Gaming Portable Pick 2.
:eng101::hf::eng101:

Get a netbook with an nVidia ION GPU. That will game fine.
Why the hate with the gaming laptops? A year ago I picked up a refurbished Gateway FX gaming laptop for $800. I call that cheap. I just played Dragon Age on it about 10 minutes ago. That constitutes as gaming. It isn't exactly a netbook, but I can throw the thing in my backpack and head to a friend's house with no problem. I'd like to see you gaming laptop haters do that with your full tower. Seriously, they're packing some impressive performance into laptops nowadays. Its the way to go for gaming if you want ANY sort of portability.
Because whats the point of a gaming laptop if your going to set it on a desktop with a mouse anyways. Its stupid and unpractical. [editline]02:16PM[/editline] And if you can't carry a computer then you are a pussy.
Build your computer, and choose a LAN box style case.

[editline]02:16PM[/editline] And if you can't carry a computer then you are a pussy.
If you're on the move a lot and want a gaming platform you can deploy on-the-go in your backpack. A desktop takes ~5 minutes to set up, a laptop with a mouse takes under 1. That, and the laptop is lighter and smaller than carrying a mid-ATX case and a 15" monitor that won't have the same resolution as that of the laptop's same-sized display. Sagers seem to have rather decent specs on them, though I'm not sure of the quality.
do you know any good ones
Thermaltake's LANBox because it'll fit a 8800GTX-sized card, or get a media center case as most of them will fit GTX400-series cards.
Never even heard of 'sager' until i saw this thread. Gaming laptops will never give you the kind of performance your used to unless you've been using some ancient desktop, and their prices are usually outside of what i would consider reasonable. Personally i use my desktop and a netbook because i have no requirement for gaming on the go. Unless you really can't use a desktop, i'd say its more than likely going to be best for you if you use your budget otherwise. This is assuming you actually want the laptop for gaming.
Sager's a good choice. Great bang for the buck. But really a LAN box/ high-performance HTPC is a better choice
The Sager's about $1,300.
you can get a hell of a laptop for 1300, hit Newegg and look at Asus's offerings
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152192 Personally, I'm looking into this myself. This matches the ever-popular Asus G73's specs minus 4 gigs of RAM, which you really wouldn't need anyways. About the same display, lighter, and much cheaper. Has card slots and shit if you want, including eSATA. And right now has a rebate to make it $1300.
