I came across what seemed to be a roach so I caught it and it showed to my relative, but she thought it was a weird looking mantis. Does anyone knows what it really is? Here's some pics for you to study.

I saw bug and thought programming.
Boy was I wrong.
How big is that thing?
need better pictures dawg, that's definitely a roach or something related. Not sure where mantis is coming from.
like, what color is is and shit
if it's black it's prob a "water beetle" or Oriental Cockroach, which is basically a seasonal type of roach that will chill out in dank parts of your house during rainy seasons and then bugger off later

I had to take them with a smartphone, but the color of the back is black and the belly and legs are brown. The water beetle didn't match unfortunately.
I am by no means a bug expert, but I am completely certain that is a roach, not a mantis. The head looks similar between the two, I guess, but that's definitely the body of a roach.
I'd help go picture hunting to try and figure it out but I'm sure I'd see some really nasty stuff if I started looking up roaches on Google images.
Where do you live OP (country / state).
Could help narrow it down geographically.
without any geographical information we can't really help you. that's definitely a roach of some sort but the pictures are shit and I have no idea where it is so you may as well have shown me a napkin drawing

Ah, then you're probably dealing with a Brazilian Spotted Whooping Wasp. Best leave it in that bottle, when threatened it can skeletonize a herd of buffalo in 9 seconds.

There's a clear difference between a roach and a wasp. This is obviously not a wasp.

Torture him. Find the queen. Use the original cockroach as an sleep cell to spring up rebel groups to uprise and dis-stabalized the region. Sell bug spray to both sides. Make money.

Administer bodyweight or greater pressure, usually applied via the calcaneus or lower phalanges.
and if all that fails just flush it down the toilet

very true, buuut still it's yer own fault for calling it a 'water beetle' and giving no pics/links. i can't find any link that refers to them as 'water beetles', just 'water bugs', and since 'water beetles' refers to something else entirely ofc he got confused when he googled that lol

water beetles are a group of (at some point) aquatic swimming fuckers, 'water bug' is just a seldom used common name referring to this big fat gross terrestrial roach fucker. they mostly live in two separate habitats, but more importantly roaches and beetles are two very different Orders of insects
now u know! !! !
I don't appreciate this
