Came home from a vacation, turned it on, went to facebook, and it froze.
Rebooted and got a bluescreen. Over and over again.

The bluescreen
I tried everything, including resetting the boot records, but nothing helps. Doing a system repair gives this:

It's 4 months old, i really don't think so. Never had HDD problems before.
Well, my HDD broke last month, didn't get a BSOD, but everything reacted really slow.
Thing is, it isn't dead, i can access files from it with a livecd / another disk with ubuntu on it.
Reinstalling windows is NOT an option.
Why not? If it's just for files you haven't backed-up and you can access them through a livecd like you said...

My external drive isn't big enough for 600 gigs of data, including movie projects, steam games & website work, including upcoming client work.
I have been awake for 24h+ because of jetlag, don't blame me if i write something dumb here.
Can you boot into the Windows installation disk? If you can, you can make a repair installation or whatever it's called.

Nope, screencapped it in OP.
Ohh, sorry.

Pretty much describes everything.
Hmmm.. Try download MemTest86 and test your RAM.
It... just rebooted itself when i started it :raise:

you can redownload all your steam games, that's bound to be 100+gb of data right there
[editline]10th May 2011[/editline]
but otherwise there's so many things this could possibly be...
Steam is so slow, so i really don't want to download all that shit again. And i have the perfect game setups too.

If by setups you mean settings, Steam Cloud should have most of them backed up. If not, backup all your Steam games "cfg" and/or "config" folders.
Maybe try removing one of your RAM sticks?
[editline]10th May 2011[/editline]
The video you posted indicates it could be a problem with the RAM, so I'd say it's worth a shot.

Hammer maps, textures, maps, etc

Could try it, yeah. Not home right now.
I'm going to suggest you boot into Ubuntu and use it's partition manager to create yourself a new partition separate from your normal one and to use the new partition for your backup. Copy as many important files to the external drive. Reinstall windows to the broken install formatting the partition only, keeping in mind if you select the whole drive you're totally fucked.
There is no options here a kernel error is heavy duty stuff, if you're unable to get windows working after a reinstall and an update it'll mean you have some bad hardware (could be anything).
This is not recommended at all you really need another harddrive dedicated to backup if you're relying on a computer for your income and it fuckes up like this you're totally fucked totally fucked you need to learn from this situation, set an automated backup and be sure it's working correctly.
I know some people that are photographers professionally they've lost thousands of dollars of work (people's wedding pictures) due to harddrive failure that could have been prevented just by keeping a backup on a $80 harddrive.
I might get another 1TB drive then. And send back the "faulty" one.

Don't bother it's not ram. A ram failure would show a different message.

The harddrive is fine it's Microsoft being bad at Kernel drivers.
So.. it just broke? What happened then? I just need to reinstall?
I'll buy a new drive anyway.

We'll be able to tell what the problem is after the reinstall. And no need to buy a new harddrive right now.
But i really need about 500 gigs of that data, and i really have nowhere to store it, my external hdd is full.

The microsoft kernel being used for one of the vital pieces of hardware was coded bad and basically the only was I see to repair something like that is a reinstall since you already tried recovery.
Also I agree you do need some sort of second harddrive for backup especially if you make money from using your pc.

I think i'll make a RAID0 when i'm at it anyways, a new HDD is able to ship in just a few days.
I can try cleaning up my external, it's at 1,5tb so i should be able to get some space.

And that's why you should use a System Partition (Only and ONLY! Windows) and a Data/Program partition so you can wipe C:\, reinstall Windows and have still every single data available. Running with this and similar setups now for more than 10 years. I still wonder, why the Windows Installer does not suggest such a setup by it's own since it makes Sense.
Also to the error: It seems to be a corruption of data on your HDD.

Anyway, run a repair with your Windows DVD as it has been suggested before.

It's not "coded bad". My guess is, it's program code got corrupted due to an error on the HDD so it fails. Any OS kernel will fail if it gets corrupted.

Because then the data will be spread out everywhere, since i use the desktop alot, and install all programs to C:\, and the space given is never enough, or it's too much.
Can't repair, watch the video or the second image.
My working buddies here say that i should make a ~50g partition and put programfiles on d:, makes sense.

That was at 3am probably why I just blamed it on microsoft.
But shouldn't i just be able to repair the kernel then?
