I was going to post this in Fast Threads, but decided I'd do better here with all the photographers laying about.
This will be my first time with a DSLR camera, and i need one thats easy to use, good for beginners but good for experienced users too. I like the Canon 450D; but I'm not sure.
I'll be going to france in may and I think its the perfect opportunity for some photography.
Any advice?
Okay, we don't need another thread like this. We're getting too many now.
The best advice I can give you for an entry level camera is this; go to a store and try one out. If you think you'll like a canon that's probably your best choice, but all entry level cameras will be basically the same if you strip down all the gimmicks.
I've used a Sony, a Nikon and a Canon. Personally, I liked the Canon, and opted for a Canon 350D with a 15-55mm lens.
Of course I'd recommend the 350D - I love it. Its just such a step up from my old digital compact. I'd back up the above - try before you buy. Arguably, theres not a lot between the Nikon D40 and the Canon 350D - both entry-level DSLR bodies. So I just went for what i'm used to - Canon. But ultimately you need to see which you prefer.
Canon's are really good for beginners. Great color quality and more. Not to pricey as well so I'd say go with a XSi or XTi.
Be a man and get a film SLR.
