Iceland has received an informal approach from an intermediary who claims Edward Snowden, the former National Security Agency contractor who exposed the US government's secret surveillance programs, wants to seek asylum there.
Snowden, the former employee of contractor Booz Allen Hamilton, who worked in an NSA facility in Hawaii, made world headlines after providing details of the program to the Guardian and Washington Post and then fleeing to Hong Kong.

but Snowden has said did not travel there immediately from the United States as he feared Iceland could be pressured by Washington.
Iceland. Stand up for freedom and maintain your sovereignty. Don't let America bully you into submission like so many other European nations.
How would he even get to Iceland anyway?
i thought the headline was about a mountain seeking asylum
Damn, that picture looks like it's from the future with those towers.

Seriously though. To my knowledge he's still in China and the US is hunting him down. Getting him there sounds like quite an operation.
I am worried that, if this does go through, they might intercept him on his way there.
Well he's luckier than Dr.Aden so Far.

I thought I read that Snowden would have to actually be in Iceland before he would be able to seek asylum.
