My friend likes to make hardstyle/dance music occasionally and we were wondering if any of you guys know how we could make a small amount of cash off of this?
Submit it to iTunes, find a deal with a record company, ask to play it on your local radio station, play live gigs at bars/pubs.

@ Smart Patrol: there are people who buy this stuff so you're bringing up a completely irrelevant point. And you're not helping either. You might get some money for playing it on parties, don't expect to earn a lot though, especially if you aren't really a DJ or have the equipment to supply a party with music...
play live gigs at bars/pubs.
That reminds me, why does that sound so retarded to me with music like hardstyle and the like? All it really is is some samples thrown together (not that I'm any sort of authority on music).
You could burn it to a cd and try to sell it.
So are you nerdy and weak?
depends
yea live gigs not much of an option, we dont have that much equipment @smart patrol lol, kind of right, but I still like it and so do a lot of other people
Well it all really depends on the quality of the tracks he is producing, if you think he's at a pro standard then he could submit a demo track to a well established label and get the track pressed to vinyl, CD and digital. There's always the option of submitting the track to websites like Trackitdown.net and beatsport.com though I don't really recommend this because no feedback from people who know how to produce which you would normally get if you submitted it to a label.
My dad is an amateur musician. He makes cash by playing live gigs at bars, pubs and the like, then selling his CDs afterwards. He makes a decent amount monthly. Of course most hardstyle is pretty shit and common as dirt so your friend will have to be pretty damn good at what he does to sell anything.
