I sell sewing machines and sewing machine accessories. also embroidery machines, sergers, and other things. I work part time at a leased out space in a crafts store. Though my main store is only 1 mile down the road. So you know the drill, ask away at this exciting life! This is NOT a parody thread, I do work selling sewing machines. An embroidery I did a while back for FP. http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=838344
Have you ever got hurt? [editline]07:00AM[/editline] Are you old, or Chinese?
Q: Have you ever got hurt? Are you old, or Chinese? A: Yes I have gotten hurt, not anything serious but just the machine parts sometimes bang into my hand and the needle might scratch me. But my co-worker, who works before me, often gets hurt, because she is rather old and if a part jutting out hits her hand she sometimes will bleed, but she doesn't notice it. and I am not an old Chinese man
Have you ever got robbed?
Q: Have you ever got robbed? A: We haven't been robbed, but something close, I believe either our main store or the one I work at received counterfeit $100 bills. So now we all have to use a counterfeit detecting marker on $20 bills and up. [editline]7:20[/editline] I'll be back in a few hours to answer more questions, so please ask them.
What's the craziest thing that happened at work.
What is the maximum material thickness for your middle-range models
Do sewing machines turn you on ?
Ever had sex with the sewing machines? :buddy:
Is it possible to sew my hand back on if I cut it off? :downs:
Do you really work there or is this a parody thread?
Are you Zach Braff or are you at least in love with him?
How many guys actually go into the store of their own free will?
Have you gone to bed?
why did you choose this job?
Q: What's the craziest thing that happened at work. A: Well this one lady brought in scissors to be sharpened (we do that too) and she gave me trouble with everything, the scissors were all dirty somehow, one was misaligned, and she kept asking me if the sharpener would clean them, which I didn't think so, so after getting them out of a very thin but long bag, tagged them all up and ready for them to be paid for, she argues about paying, she want to pay after they get sharpened, which I can't do and finally she decided to leave with them after she was disgusted that there was tax on it. Making me undo all my work. Q: What is the maximum material thickness for your middle-range models A: well most machines should be able to handle most materials, it really depends on the needle you get, and we have needles for heavy fabrics. But the most thick material I have heard a customer work with was linoleum. Q: Do sewing machines turn you on ? A: no... :) Q: Ever had sex with the sewing machines? A: No. Q: Is it possible to sew my hand back on if I cut it off? A: It is possible, but probably wouldn't be the best method. Q: Do you really work there or is this a parody thread? A: I really work there, this is not a parody thread. Q: Are you Zach Braff or are you at least in love with him? A: My avatar is, and no... Q: How many guys actually go into the store of their own free will? A: More than you think, there are many guys who will buy machines or accessories, a lot were taught how to sew in the wars, and maybe if their dad was in the war, they taught their sons who now sew. Also my company is owned by a guy. Q: Have you gone to bed? A: No I went to school. Nappy time isn't for 10 more hours from now. Q: why did you choose this job? A: My Dad worked with advertising and made advertisements for this company, my dad found out he was hiring and he got me the interview. I chose it, because it would be easy to get hired, and I like working in a obscure field, where most men don't. I would rather be working at my local computer store though. Also here is an embroidery I did at work for Facepunch. http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=838344 I have to leave for work in 2 1/2 hours. and I am going to embroider the FP logo next.
Do you actually make alterations or do you just sell the machines :psyboom:
This IS a parody thread, even if you are actually a sewing machine store clerk
Do you enjoy sewing, REALY?
This IS a parody thread, even if you are actually a sewing machine store clerk
This is not a parody thread because I am not making fun of the original thread or really commenting on it, I liked the idea and I would have done it before, but I didn't think so many people would be interested in something of the likes. Q: Do you actually make alterations or do you just sell the machines A: I just sell the machines, but there is a lot of down time in which I can either sit there or do something on the machine. In fact we are specifically not allowed to do alterations. Q: Do you enjoy sewing, REALY? A: It is okay. I don't normally sew in my spare time at home. There are worse things. Off to work now, Ill be back in 5 1/2 half hours. Please ask more, I am enjoying answering your questions.
Are you back yet? Why do you continue to work there, even though you'd rather work elsewhere?
