The Canadian company that proposed the Keystone XL oil pipeline on Wednesday filed a lawsuit over the U.S. government's rejection of the project and announced it plans to file a second legal challenge that will seek more than $15 billion in damages. TransCanada filed a federal lawsuit in Houston alleging President Barack Obama's decision in November to kill the pipeline exceeded his power under the U.S. Constitution.

The company also announced it will submit a separate petition seeking the billions in damages, alleging the U.S. breached its obligations under the North American Free Trade Agreement.

In its lawsuit, TransCanada alleges President Obama's decision exceeded his powers as president and infringed upon Congress' power under the Constitution to regulate interstate and international commerce.
http://http://www.cbsnews.com/news/transcanada-to-file-2-legal-challenges-to-keystone-xl-pipeline-rejection/
You just got told by a governing body to fuck off. Are you seriously that stupid to think he'll change his mind?

Are you seriously that stupid to think he'll change his mind?
The Lawsuit in Houston seeks to overturn the Rejection. NAFTA suit seeks money from it. Edit: this comes 5 days before when Obama does a desperate thing and tries to sell the TPP to Congress in his State Of the Union.
It's like they didn't even read the actual list of reasons, the president actually does have the legal authority to prevent the pipeline. Also fuck the media, all I've read is so 1-sided they make it seem like Obama was the only one to hate this thing, and they list reasons for it but none of the criticisms against it like how the tens of thousands of jobs number was complete bullshit or how the koch brothers oil company would pretty much be the only one profiting from the xl-extension

I can't imagine them doing this unless they actually think they can win. It's going to be an interesting case.

I find it strange that people in North America are guzzling petrol while complaining about a pipeline for that fuel.

There are already a lot of other pipelines. And this is a pipeline for oil from Canada to reach Texas. But Keystone XL became a political hot-potato a while back over numerous issues.
The company wouldn't be spending billions building it if there wasn't a market and a need.
I almost think that they don't want the pipeline to get approved now, but get the government to reinburst them for the billions they spent.
The company wouldn't be spending billions building it if there wasn't a market and a need.
The XL is just a shortcut for an already existing pipe, the "Keystone." It'll increase volume of an already existing route.
