• Donald Trump: Nigel Farage would be great UK ambassador
President-elect Donald Trump has said UKIP leader Nigel Farage would make a good British ambassador to the US. Mr Trump said "many people" would like to see Mr Farage as ambassador and he would do a "great job". Mr Farage, who helped Mr Trump during his US presidential election campaign, said the suggestion had come as a "bolt from the blue", adding: "If I could help the UK in any way I would". But No 10 rejected the suggestion, saying "there is no vacancy".
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-38060434
wtf? Is it normal for a country to ask someone to send that person as an ambassador?
wtf? Is it normal for a country to ask someone to send that person as an ambassador?
Behind the scenes it has happened over the years.
No. No he wouldn't. Fuck off.
No. No he wouldn't. Fuck off.
Well it would shut him up, he wouldn't be able to be politically active if he took the position.
Can't we just give Farage to US and Trump can keep him like some sort of live in racist/guest entertainer. We don't want him, he's a gimp.
Farage and Trump are the best comedy duo. The live tour starts next year.
he's just a proud british man with proud british values, such as being an upper class cunt and laughing about it in a gold plated fucking lift FUCK NIGEL FARAGE
Well... he's not wrong!
nigel farage is a fantastic representation of the current state of UK politics so i'm all for it finally we can get the joke representative that our joke country deserves
Well hey, if we're going to fuck up our whole country then who would be a better figurehead eh?
nigel farage is a fantastic representation of the current state of UK politics so i'm all for it finally we can get the joke representative that our joke country deserves
We've already got Boris for secretary of foreign affairs lmao

I'm pretty excited to get more Farage in my life. He would be hilarious on American news networks.
I'm pretty excited to get more Farage in my life. He would be hilarious on American news networks.
Farage would do a lot to improve American-British relations in America, he would be a massive improvement over people like John Oliver and Lena Dunham at least.

Isn't Farage the guy who lead a campaign that openly lied about the benefits of separating from the EU and didn't even plan for it actually happening? Sounds right up Trump's alley :v: [editline]22nd November 2016[/editline]
I'm pretty excited to get more Farage in my life.
Why are you infatuated with people who lie to your face.
For me personally I find it amusing to see how people react to his stances and I think he represents the effective counter reaction to the failings of the EU or even some of the progressive elements that reach too far. Alot of politicians lie to our faces, and are repeatedly caught doing it, so it's not like I am going to turn off my ears just for him though. And even if you don't like him, him being an Ambassador would hardly be that crazy. Probably would confine him if anything if he wasn't thinking about coming out of retirement already.

He would be a terrible representative for his country.

dont dump your garbage on us we have enough as it is
Agree, but as an Ambassador I really don't fear him doing much.
I don't know if you are deliberately missing the point or not but I'm not afraid that Farage is going to "do" anything. I honestly don't give a shit who's the ambassador to the US from the UK. I'm just trying to understand what appeal you (someone who seems seriously aggrieved with the status quo "establishment politics") see in the man beyond "He is on my side". A lot of politicians lie sure but not to the degree that Trump and Farage do, particularly the latter who ran a long campaign of misinformation then bailed during the actual hard part of forming a plan to lose as little as possible.

Sadly this is the problem with most countries right now where the only alternative approaches to today's current issues has to be some guy from the more extreme stances. He is pretty good at organizing despite the UKIP party getting lambasted left and right, justifiably or not. And I don't personally see him as much as liar, but more of the UKIP campaign in general with their leave campaigning with dumb things like that bus. As far as I could tell in interviews he didn't personally advocate the more outrageous claims. And just personally he seems like a decent fellow in politics who doesn't talk posh. He is just a natural fit for Trump's campaign (Administration*) honestly.
I'm sure he'd be a great ambassador, given his past insults against the European Parliament for them not doing a days work in their life, despite them all having done more real work than him.

He just rolls with mad zingers rather than actually discussing anything properly.
Farage would do a lot to improve American-British relations in America, he would be a massive improvement over people like John Oliver and Lena Dunham at least.
???? did you just throw out two completely unrelated names that you don't like as if somehow british-american relations were defined by fucking john oliver and lena dunham
Yeah mate I think your not thinking about the same Farage as mentioned here. He just rolls with mad zingers rather than actually discussing anything properly.
Can't Barrage the Farage. I think he can debate just fine from what I seen though.
Well I agree to a certain amount/extent of his politics, but only because he is the only one advocating a alternative to EU's Globalism policies that I think need to be reworked.
My knowledge of British/European politics isn't great but from everything I've managed to gather the only thing exiting the EU has done is pushed Britain out of a privileged position at the table of European politics. In an attempt to get away from the consequences of being in the EU they've instead become even more vulnerable to them as they no longer have any leverage or bargaining power, while also losing out on the benefits, which might be huge in the form of a hard brexit or not that bad in the form of a soft brexit. Basically what I'm trying to say is that EU's globalism policies maybe do need to be reformed but flipping the table and leaving isn't reform, it's just giving up and gaining really nothing so far out of it other than a vague sense in sovereignty that was never really threatened. This makes Farage either a liar, or incompetent. Neither are particularly good traits in a politician, especially one who would be hand picked to represent his country. I don't disagree that he would be a natural fit for Trump's campaign as I think the comparisons between Trump and Brexit are abundantly obvious.
he's a lying little shitweasel who desperately needs to be exposed
