Can't completely share files over Windows 7 network

So, I'm trying to access music files from my roomie's computer. We're both running Windows 7, both on the same network, and on the same homegroup. I shared my music on the network, and his computer can access it just fine. However, when I try to access his music, I get "Error code 0x80070043 The network name cannot be found."
It's strange, since I can see his computer on the network, and also see the file folders that he's sharing on the homegroup, but I can't access anything past there. There are no firewalls that are blocking the connection on his end. Any ideas?
Windows 7 network sharing uses the Netbios protocol to exchange data, which some routers block by default, as in the past it was extremely vulnerable to remote shutdown exploits, amongst other things.
Some routers don't even have the option to unblock it on the same page as the one you use to forward ports, for example, my router has a page to forward ports under the "Application Security" tab, but the option to block/unblock the Netbios protocol is on a different page, with things like "Block Ping", "Stealth Mode" and such.
Browse the router settings looking for Netbios related options and post them here. I'll be happy to help.
Why would his router block one computer but not the other?

I don't know, but thats all I can think of at the moment, since neither computer has a firewall.
Hmm. OP, have you tried accessing your friend's computer using the IP address?
Sometimes networking just blows. Restart connections, fiddle around with your sharing options. This happens to me sometimes and I've never found a consistent solution for it.
