Gymkhana is a type of motorsport practiced in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and South Africa. Similar to autocross, gymkhana courses are often very complex and memorizing the course is a significant part of achieving a fast time. The governing body of Gymkhana in Japan is the Japan Auto Federation, a Japanese division of the FIA.
Gymkhana events are time and/or speed events in an automobile. These can feature obstacles such as cones, tires, and barrels. The driver must maneuver through a predetermined "track" performing many different driving techniques. What separates gymkhana from traditional autocross events is that the gymkhana requires drivers to perform reversals, 180 degree spins, 360 degree spins, parking boxes, figure 8s and other advanced skills. Drifting is also encouraged where helpful or necessary. Essentially, a gymkhana is any event featuring a starting point, a finish line and some sort of "obstacle" to get through, around, or by, all within a time limit.
Like most people, I stumbled upon this from Ken Block, co-founder of DC shoes.

I'm sure if any of you have played "Dirt 2" you are all familiar with Ken Block as well as other popular rally drivers especially the ones on the Subaru USA team, such as Travis Pastrana and Dave Mirra.
Ken Block was also on the show on Discovery Channel, "Stunt Junkies" a while back, he did an impressive jump and retired his original Gymkhana car.

The combination of Kens awesome stunts, cars, Dirt 2, Travis Pastrana, Dave Mirra, and the popularity of DC shoe company, I've noticed alot more people becoming rally fans and fans of Ken Block.
I have become very fond of rally racing and taken a liking to it, sure does make me wanna go to a parking lot and attempt to drift...
Wait, Dave Mirra? Didn't he do BMX before?
Yeah but now he's mostly a professional rally car driver.
I remember seeing that Top Gear episode. Damn awesome
Dam I would love to do rally racing! Just wish I can find a track and a car to try it out.
I just wish i had the money. 3k for a shitty early 90s Celica or something (Starting Rally America drivers are required to use 2WD cars), $700-800 for a rollcage, $300 for racing seats that meet Rally America requirements, and that's just for something that is allowed to race, not something that has any chance of winning.
I never knew who this was until I saw him on Top Gear. He seemed like a pretty skilled driver.
I remember seeing that Top Gear episode. Damn awesome
Yeah that was a great episode. The best part was when they captured the plane, the bike, and the car all in the same shot and in slow motion. That was some awesome cinematography.
Cars plus cool explosions equals some awesome shit.
What the fuck?

That's from the "Gymkhana Two" video, the first video I posted.
Who knows why he actually did it but it's AWESOME.
Doesn't he skateboard.
Considering he is the owner of DCshoes I assume he would.
Why is the OP talking about Gymkhana and Rally at the same time? They're completely different types of motorsports.
I'm not really interested in gymkhana, but Ken Block does some really impressive shit.
And his new STi looks beautiful, especially with those white six spokes.
