• Upgrading Graphics Cards

Hey fp, I recently re-built my computer but unfortunately I had to keep my original graphics card. I have a shitty geforce 9500 and it gets about 25 fps in l4d2 if im lucky. Its about time to upgrade so here is what I've been thinking: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161333&Tpk=5770%20iceQ OR http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161298&cm_re=4890_turbo%2b-_-14-161-298-_-Product when it comes back in stock. I like the features of the 5770 (DX11, eyefinity) but the 4890 turbo+ is a lot more powerful. The 4890 turbo+ is also almost impossible to find... I want it to be under 200, if possible. I could go to 250 if REALLY necessary. I found that 5770 for 135 so that is a possible option. I've also heard that they do really really well in crossfire. I have a x16-x4 motherboard though...would that gimp it so much that it wouldn't be worth the crossfire? What is your opinion? I can post a speccy screenshot if someone will tell me how to do that...I have a 700W power supply. Thanks, Joe

Will that do l4d2 max? and at what fps? Is it worth playing l4d2 in DX11? I also really like the eyefinity option. Im willing to sacrifice a little bit of power to get those features... Also my screen has been shaking like when im playing games. Like all of the images will wiggle slightly. When i close games its even worse on the desktop. It will eventually stop but its really annoying. Do you think this is the graphics card overheating or the monitor just being bad? Dont buy of ebay The 4890 is far better than the 5770 and is a FANTASTIC CARD
I kinda agree but can i ask why not? Why is it better? Just faster speeds? The image on my screen wiggles while i play some games and even when i minimize it still happens. It eventually stops but what do you think the problem is? Thanks
Its just a much better card, its faster.
Alright. What do you think about the screen issue? Do you think i need a new monitor? I have a x16-x4 motherboard. Would it not be worth it to crossfire in the future?

8% doesnt seem like very much.... Ive heard that the 5770 is like the 4870 but with dx11. I also really like the eyefinity on the 5770. Can you use dx11 on l4d2 and does it look a lot better than dx10? is the 4890 way more powerful than the 5770? is there a 15+ fps gain or some huge performance gain? Thanks
I don't recall L4D2 supports DX11 [editline]03:41PM[/editline] And a 4890 is more powerful than a single 5770 in DX10 [editline]03:41PM[/editline] but have no DX11 support
Really? Well I play that the most so its not worth it if it doesnt even support it... Does anyone know where to get a 4890 turbo+? I really want one but no one sells them...
