• Fruit and questions about it.

I've been told to eat fruit like pears and grapefruit while cutting. I've been told plenty of times here to bulk, not cut, but I still don't know what a "Clean bulk" is and I want to make sure I don't gain excess fat while I'm doing this. I also know these and some other fruits contain sugars (sugar for some reason always makes me hesitant now) but people on the internet say to eat them because they have fiber which "Slows down the consumption." I already take multivitamins and I'd think the oatmeal I eat in the morning has a lot of fiber. So here are my questions. -Is it really necessary to eat fruit while trying to bulk? Is it a good idea to cut it out? -Do pears really give off more of a euphoric effect than other fruits or is that some BS? -Am I going to look like a moron trying to substitute fruit with sugar free koolaid? Off topic but a bunch of other things to put here so someone can tell me that I'm wrong in eating these. I was planning on living off of Oatmeal, Salad, Chicken, Cottage Cheese, and drinks with a bunch of Stevia put in it. I also drink coffee/raw cocoa with a fat free creamer. It says here 10 calories per teaspoon but I don't know if any of the other ingredients common in creamers might screw me up.
-Am I going to look like a moron trying to substitute fruit with sugar free koolaid?
yes. A clean bulk is basically bulking while still eating healthy (no junk food etc.). Bulking without gaining any fat is very difficult and inefficient.
Bulking without gaining any fat or minuscule amounts is dependent on the person. Some can, some cannot. A quick caliper check of your Subscapularis in relation to your Tricep would say how carb tolerant are you and how close is it to reality for a person to stay pretty lean throughout the year. I'd limit dairy consumption. 3. I'd limit coffee consumption only to training days, as it causes insulin resistance. 4. Eating fruit is dependent on how lean you are, but one a day won't destroy worlds.
3. I'd limit coffee consumption only to training days, as it causes insulin resistance.
Conflicting data on that
I based that information on studies and anecdotal evidence (i.e my glucometer indicates about 10-15% increase on days where I drank coffee and days I did not, consistently), got any that contradict that statement?

What do you have with your coffee? And why only gluten free oatmeal?
I drink coffee in the mornings after some sort of meat/fish/eggs and carbs like rich or bucketwheat, if that's what you meant by "with"... also, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvhotwO-EhM & http://www.charlespoliquin.com/Blog/tabid/130/EntryId/120/Top-12-Reasons-Gluten-if-sensitive-to-it-Should-Be-ELIMINATED-From-Your-Diet-Part-1.aspx
"if sensitive to it"
Almost everybody is sensitive to Gluten. Besides, it's shit on a stick. (risk factors as Charles pointed out...)
15% of the US population is sensitive, hardly almost everybody i show none of the symptoms, and i eat 2 cups of delicious plain oats daily mmm
I drink coffee in the mornings after some sort of meat/fish/eggs and carbs like rich or bucketwheat, if that's what you meant by "with"...
Eh. I actually meant "What do you put in it?"
uhhh hth charles poliquin spews a lot of bullshit, even when he does deliver occasionally good information he makes wild claims to generate attention. Nobody fucking dropped from 10% bodyfat to 6% just by eliminating gluten.

That doesn't nessecarily negate what he's trying to convey about gluten. It has a lot of varied symptoms, so you can't say "I eat 2 cups of oats a day and feel fine" and you won't feel like you're "dead-sick" either. If you got any relevant studies suggesting Gluten is actually good for you, then I see your point valid because I actually mistakenly deprived him of "nutritious food". you can't really not gain excess fat even when you clean bulk, what you want to do is take minicuts
you can't really not gain excess fat even when you clean bulk, what you want to do is take minicuts
You will gain fat on even a clean bulk, but the idea is to gain muscle at a higher rate. So while you gain fat, your actual bodyfat percentage drops. However, that's much easier said than done, since it takes careful dieting to achieve that.
brush your teeth after you eat fruit so you don't get acids on your teeth so they become all gross
just brush your teeth twice a day shouldn't be a problem unless you have some fucked up teeth
I've been told to eat fruit like pears and grapefruit while cutting.
I'm currently losing weight with dieting and exercise. I eat at least 10oz. of cantaloupe and watermelon a day and haven't had any problems. However, I get a ton of cardiovascular exercise.
brush your teeth after you eat fruit so you don't get acids on your teeth so they become all gross
nope. acidity will actually soften and erode tooth enamel. the last thing you want to do is brush your teeth immediately after eating or drinking something acidic.
