Not many of us like thinking about death — especially our own. But making plans for what happens after you’re gone is really important for the people you leave behind. So today, we’re launching a new feature that makes it easy to tell Google what you want done with your digital assets when you die or can no longer use your account. The feature is called Inactive Account Manager — not a great name, we know — and you’ll find it on your Google Account settings page. You can tell us what to do with your Gmail messages and data from several other Google services if your account becomes inactive for any reason.
http://googlepublicpolicy.blogspot.com/2013/04/plan-your-digital-afterlife-with.html https://www.google.com/settings/u/0/account/inactive you can also email all your data to someone else if you want
Makes sense - can't serve ads to a dead one :P
Now dying men will have no fears that their family will find out about their porn addiction.
Very considerate on Google's part. It's free services like these that make them my favorite company.
I've thought about this issue on a lot. In 100 years the internet will be full of content from dead people.
I wonder if people will find us? What will Facepunch look like to the people of 2113
Probably parked by a hosting company, showing ton of ads. Like half the dead links I find nowadays.
I wonder if people will find us? What will Facepunch look like to the people of 2113
Probably a big 404
I wonder if people will find us? What will Facepunch look like to the people of 2113
Webservers will probably be down. Hopefully not though.

I can finally get rid of this medical alert bracelet.
I want the be able to remotely fry all storage in my computer and delete all my online accounts, and set it up to be linked with this.
NO MY PORN COLLECTION MUST LIVE ON!
This is great-- Now we can all amass a great collection of weird fetish porn then have it be shared to all our contacts once we're dead.
This is great-- Now we can all amass a great collection of weird fetish porn then have it be shared to all our contacts once we're dead.
And we won't be alive to experience the bitching they deliver!
Did it.
Diddy did it.
Why would you care? You're dead.
Why would you care? You're dead.
Because what if our children find out that we watched train porn! That can scar a child's mind!

I would rather have everybody seeing my emails and content for centuries.
I wonder if the internet as we know it will still be a thing in 100 years. Maybe some of us will be telling our grand-children one day about these things called "forums".
Personally I want a T1 going to heaven so I can haunt people on the net.
Facebook needs this feature. I have a few friends on facebook that have passed and still seeing their facebook page open and things like their last status update / photos etc. is really, really unsettling. example, i have a girl on my facebook who passed away from leukemia, and her last post was "Happy mothers day mom. I donno what i would do if u werent here by my side helping me through everything. I love you mom ♥" it's unsettling as fuck

I think I'll just leave it as it is. I want to leave as much shit as I can in this world before I die. :v:

So when they say "delete," do they mean that every trace of your account is wiped off of Google's servers forever, or are they pulling a Facebook and making it impossible to truly "delete" your account? If so I have a few Google accounts with... questionable searches I'd like to get rid of. :v:
