• Screen Capture recording software problems

I've been trying to set up a "Let's Play" channel, and my new graphics card came with Shadowplay on it. I worked amazing the first couple of times I've tried it, but recently it stopped working when I needed it to. I'm trying to use it to manually record gameplay, but after hitting the hotkeys nothing happens. No recording or anything. I've tried restarting Shadowplay and switching it off and on. Previously, I'd used Raptr on my old rig, but sometimes it wouldn't record my sessions, especially when they were longer (like 10 min or more) The only other program I have is Fraps, which I'm well aware has its problems, but so far it's been more reliable to me then the other ones so far, apart from the occasional random lag. What do you guys suggest?
ShadowPlay only works if the game is in the optimisation tab. Minecraft isn't one so you first have to start recording your desktop then open the game and ShadowPlay will keep recording. Yeah it is kind of weird and I know I am a bit late but hey... the best I can do. If what has been stated above is not true and is not the problem then get back to me on that and I'll try trouble shooting this myself.
Use OBS with NVENC. It's essentially the same. Just remember to up the bitrate and make sure it's saved as a .MP4.
I'll check those out later, thanks for the suggestion.

Try updating the drivers in GeForce Experience. That usually fixes my issues with Shadowplay. Does your status icon (the one in the corner) have a red line through it?
I use DxTory personally, with the Lagarith codec Recommended that you split the game to 2 cores and have DT use 1 or 2 cores of course [editline]15th March 2016[/editline] fraps is abandon ware as a note. Absolutely last thing any professional or anyone should use. last update was 2013
Tried updating GeForce Experience and starting Shadowplay again, still having the same problems I was having before; When I hit the button to record nothing happens. Gonna try the OBS thing now. EDIT: Liking OBS so far, but wondering if NVENC is necessary for it to run properly? EDIT: One of the games I'm gonna be recording is "Undertale", and it looks like that game dosen't work with OBS. I'm thinking it would be okay to use Fraps for that, right? EDIT: The quality on OBS is lacking. Looks really fuzzy most of the time. Any good fixes for this? EDIT: Installing AMD Raptr on my rig to try it again. EDIT: It's not. Fraps is seriously looking good to me again despite what everyone's saying. EDIT: I tried re-installing GeForce Experience and it seems to be working again. If it stops working again I'll reinstall it again, that might be the only way to fix this problem it had before.

be sure to demo the shit out of dxtory for sure if you do try it, cause you have to pay for it, and that's usually a big reason people might unbookmark it. It's pretty alright though. Just needs to be properly tuned and oiled.
I can most definitely recommend OBS, because I use it all the time for captures. But your problem can just be fixed if you turn on Desktop Capture.
