It'd be super cool if Activision was still to produce and experiment with different pitches, but after the bad (incredibly undue) feedback from Infinite Warfare I doubt they'll ever try to deviate from the formula again
To deviate from what? They're going to the final fronteir. Also there's a chance Activision will still try for deviation CODs. All that needs to happen is for Battlefield 1 to suceed critically and financially and BOOM, Activision will immediately come up with a game like it to grab EA's Coattails.
The way it's described you might as well just not throw the CoD name on it, as it seems to hold no relation to CoD. It's mostly thirdperson and in Rome, why even append CoD?

It's easier to sell the name of a popular franchise, than an original title that may not grab everybody's attention.
This just seems like Ryse I wouldn't mind a decent saving private romulus campaign though

The gaming community is especially garbage at boycotting/avoiding products and Activision knows it.

I just want them make a back to basic, boots on the ground game. Something like Cod4 or MW2, but more balanced multiplayer.
