Donald Trump: Donald Trump reacted to the explosions that rocked Brussels Tuesday morning, describing the scene as a "disaster" and warning that "this is just the beginning." The Republican front-runner, who has made immigration and security issues central to his 2016 presidential bid, discussed the reported suicide attacks in an interview on Fox News' "Fox and Friends." "I will tell you, I've been talking about this a long time, and look at Brussels," Trump said. "Brussels was a beautiful city, a beautiful place with zero crime. And now it's a disaster city. It's a total disaster, and we have to be very careful in the United States, we have to be very careful and very vigilant as to who we allow in this country. " On Fox, he described Brussels now as an "armed camp." "If you went into Brussels 20 years ago, it was like a magical city. Now you look at it, it's an armed camp," Trump said. "You want to lead your life, you don't want to be living in an armed camp for your whole life. And there is a certain group of people that is making living a normal life impossible." Trump was quick to link the attacks to Muslim refugees and migrants from the Middle East who have flooded into Europe as a result of Syria's civil war and turmoil in the region. "It's going to get worse and worse. In my opinion, this is just the beginning. It will get worse and worse because we are lax and we are foolish -- we can't allow these people, at this point we cannot allow these people to come into our country. I'm sorry," he said. "This is a story that just seems to be more and more happening and it's really not very pretty to watch."

John Kasich: "The wave of terror that has been unleashed in Europe and elsewhere around the world are attacks against our very way of life and against the democratic values upon which our political systems have been built," he said in a statement. "We and our allies must rededicate ourselves to these values of freedom and human rights. We must utterly reject the use of deadly acts of terror." Later, Kasich called on President Barack Obama, currently on a foreign trip to Cuba, to return to the U.S. "The president must return home immediately and get to work with our allies to respond with strength against the enemies of the west," he tweeted. In a news conference in Minneapolis later in the day, Kasich said the U.S. would have to reassemble a global coalition of European and Arab allies like the one from the first Gulf War to "destroy ISIS." "The challenge I think we are always going to face, especially here in the United States, is the issue of the lone wolf or lone wolves, small groups of people who are intent on inflicting harm," he said. "We have seen it in a number of ways here in the United States, most recently in San Bernardino."

Ted Cruz: Though the attackers have yet to be identified, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz called the blasts "just the latest in a string of coordinated attacks by radical Islamic terrorists perpetrated those who are waging war against all who do not accept their extreme strain of Islam," in a Facebook post. "Radical Islam is at war with us," he said, and accused Obama of refusing to "acknowledge this reality."

Hillary Clinton: Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton told NBC's "Today" show the U.S. has to be "absolutely smart and strong and steady in how we respond." "We've got to stand in solidarity with our European allies," she said. But the former secretary of state cautioned against blanket bans on immigrants based on the attacks. "It's unrealistic to say we're going to completely shut down our borders to everyone," she said. "I know that Americans have every reason to be frightened by what they see, (but) we've got to work this through, consistent with our values." Clinton said in a statement that "the people of Brussels, of Europe and of the world will not be intimidated by these vicious killers." "Today's attacks will only strengthen our resolve to stand together as allies and defeat terrorism and radical jihadism around the world," she said. She later tweeted, "My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those killed and wounded, and all the people of Belgium" and "These terrorists seek to undermine the democratic values that are the foundation of our way of life. They will never succeed. -H"

Bernie Sanders: Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders called the attack "another cowardly attempt to terrorize innocent civilians." "Today's attack is a brutal reminder that the international community must come together to destroy ISIS. This type of barbarism cannot be allowed to continue," he said in a statement. He also tweeted, "We offer our deepest condolences to the people of Brussels and stand with our European allies to offer any necessary assistance." Honestly im super okay with Kasich getting the GOP ticket, he's the most sanest one out of them all
Honestly im super okay with Kasich getting the GOP ticket, he's the most sanest one out of them all
Shame he won't.
Trump is the only one who saw this coming. This is from January I believe.
Is Brussels a really "disaster city" or is this another statement straight out of Big Don's ass?
Is Brussels a really "disaster city" or is this another statement straight out of Big Don's ass?
yes, most refugees are belgians
yes, most refugees are belgians
It's fine. The media is just bullshitting and fearmongering.
His predictions so far have been 100% accurate, give up Nostradamus you can't beat the Trump.
It's easy to predict things when you say everything, changing positions seemingly every week.
Trump hasn't changed his positions and has been saying the same things for decades. Sounds exactly like a Trump rally speech you would hear today.
Is Brussels a really "disaster city" or is this another statement straight out of Big Don's ass?
You really have to ask that?
Is Brussels a really "disaster city" or is this another statement straight out of Big Don's ass?
the only disaster about brussels is how utterly boring, grey and sleep inducing it is
Trump hasn't changed his positions and has been saying the same things for decades. I don't think anyone else but the Trumpster himself could see this coming after there was a big to-do with the counter-terrorist operations in Brussels recently.
Cruz wants to... well...
Cruz wants to... well...
We need to patrol and 'secure' Jewish neighborhoods. Suddenly— that doesn't sound so acceptable.
You know anyone that knows my post history knows that I am not a supporter of Bernie, but I think his reaction was the best here. Don't know why most the Republican candidates had to bring Obama into it, it's so childish. It's like when the Democrats tried to blame everything on Bush and now the Republicans want to do the same to Obama. They are both good presidents who have faced some very difficult situations, the finger pointing and constant shit flinging is ridiculous.
lol but George W. Bush was actually an awful president.
Don't know why most the Republican candidates had to bring Obama into it, it's so childish.
I'm expecting all the comedy talk-show hosts to do some variation of this joke: "Tonight, Republican candidates denounced President Obama for failing to protect Brussels from yesterday's tragic attacks. President Obama responded by pulling out a map of the United States and saying 'Do you see Brussels on this map? No? Then it's not my fault, now, is it? I'm not in charge of it, I'm not responsible for it.'"
We need to patrol and 'secure' Jewish neighborhoods. Suddenly— that doesn't sound so acceptable.
It would sound fine if the Jews were doing what the Muslims are. (User was permabanned for this post ("You're done.
It would sound fine if the Jews were doing what the Muslims are.
Holy shit dude What the fuck
Holy shit dude
You know what happened in Brussels today, right?
You know what happened in Brussels today, right?
You know what happened in 1940s Europe right?
You know what happened in 1940s Europe right?
I do. But I'm not familiar with how many terrorist attacks the Jews did in the 1940s, can you remind me?
You know what happened in Brussels today, right?
Yes. Nine hundred thousand Muslims acted like ordinary, upstanding people and didn't hurt or kill anyone.
I do. But I'm not familiar with how many terrorist attacks the Jews did in the 1940s, can you remind me?
At what point in history did forcing people into designated communities and heavily policing them turn out good? Regardless of what a the people did, scapegoating and shoving all of those people into a single area never ended well. It's a huge infringement of rights no matter where in the world you are.
Yes. Nine hundred thousand Muslims acted like ordinary, upstanding people and didn't hurt or kill anyone.
There were three that did. You can go "oh, it's only 1%". Yes, the percentage doesn't sound very bad. That still makes at least 200,000+ Muslims terrorists. Doesn't look like the Jews need any monitoring to me. For one, the vast, vast majority of Muslims live in a war torn, poverty stricken, fucked up area of the world where guns are easier to get then water. [editline]23rd March 2016[/editline] Not to mention much of this poverty and war was caused by Christian western nations

[editline]23rd March 2016[/editline] Not to mention much of this poverty and war was caused by Christian western nations
http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/attacks/attacks.aspx?Yr=Last30 During the last 30 days, there were 114 Islamic attacks in 22 countries, in which 1127 people were killed and 1599 injured. And that doesn't even count Brussels. They have a problem with violent attacks, why act like the problem doesn't exist? We should watch them and prevent as many of these attacks as we possibly can. Oh yeah, the Christians made ISIS. The Christians did Paris, the Christians did Brussels, the Christians did Cologne, the Christians did 9/11. Do you have any idea how ridiculous that sounds?
There were three that did. You can go "oh, it's only 1%". Yes, the percentage doesn't sound very bad. We guaranteed 99.999% reliability - meaning we could shut the system down for only five minutes per year before contracts kicked in and we had to shell out major cash. And that is ten times less reliable than the statement "no Belgian Muslims are terrorists".
