Is this a good card? Is it a bad card? I don't know anything about it, any information would be nice. :)
All I can say is its old (not very old, but newegg doesn't list it anymore). I would get at least a GTS 250

I see. Because I'm getting $1,300 for my birthday, and I'm going to spend every last dime of it on a new computer, and I was considering just buying one of Best Buy to be lazy. But they load all of their rigs up with GTS 240s and GTS/GTX 260s. But I just wasn't sure about the card, I had never seen them.

GTS 240 aint a bad card but with that budget your going to be wanting a much better one so ye go with the 5850 and also build it your self. Bestbuy seem to love to rip people off.

If you had a 600$ budget a gt240 would be an ok card(preferr ATI atm)
For your budget get a 5850 / 587
Don't even buy the graphics cards separate from best buy let alone a computer, the card in question is $85 more at best buy then newegg and that was their online store so that + shipping on both.

The gt 240s best use is low power draw because it doesn't need a 6 pin.
