Pavia, Italy: malnourished and segregated by her partner, 55 year old Laura Carla Lodola was rescued by police officers. Weighing 15 kilograms, the woman was immediately recovered, but died less than a day later. Her partner, 60 year old Antonio Calandrini, has been accused of kidnapping, but the death of the woman may see him being charged of murder. The neighbors have not called the authorities once, though many have claimed to have heard screams coming from the woman's apartment.
Holy shit. 33 pounds?
What the fuck?
What does a person who weighs 33 pounds even look like?
I'm legitimately disturbed.

Skeleton with skin on it.
Am I a bad person for being a bit curious about what she looked like?
Then again, I'm kinda glad I haven't. It would haunt me in my sleep.
Jesus Christ. I've seen pictures of people with extreme eating disorders and around 70lbs starts to look inhuman for an adult. I cannot even imagine the horror of being at 60, 50, or 40lbs, let alone 33..

She's definitely a trooper.
I'm gonna translate this later to see how the roommate prevented her from eating.
33 pounds, thats fucking unreal

As far as I know nothing was said on the news. Her partner is being interrogated, so new details will emerge as time goes on.

some unreliable trash television had witnesses saying that she outright refused to eat on her own.
Nothing official has been said yet
i highly doubt this is true tbh. i mean a small dog can weigh 15kg, i doubt an adult human can weigh this little. a healthy corgi is like 12kg

It really depends on multiple factors like their height, but yeah I don't know.
Lucia Zarate, of San Carlos, Mexico, is said by the Guinness Book of Records to have been the lightest woman ever, at just 4.7lb, and one of the shortest at 21.5 inches tall. Her calf was barely thicker than the average adult male’s thumb.
She died of hypothermia when her circus train became stranded in snow in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in 1890.
Of course, this is an extreme instance, but I'm trying to explain that humans are naturally pushed to the extreme all the time.

Here's an English local news article:
http://www.thelocal.it/20150128/15kg-woman-held-captive-and-starved-in-own-home
The skeletal woman, who was covered in bedsores and had long hair and finger nails, had been living in filthy conditions. Doctors suspect she had been bedridden for years.
“She looked like a small shrunken mummy,” a health worker was quoted as saying.
...
The woman was found “curled up behind a sofa, semi-naked and trying to warm herself with a hair-dryer” and in a poor “physical and mental state”, according to a report in Il Messaggero.
Should give you an idea.
The human body is some crazy shit. Sometimes the smallest, dumbest thing can kill someone, but other times it can be reduced to little more than a skeleton and still survive.
Wow, this scares me so much
Unreal to think of, since my girlfriend had a eating disorder, she only was 25kg on her 16'th
15 kg, I cannot even imagine that
Wow.
Jesus, thats like an eighth of me. Makes me feel fat as fuck.

I think it makes anyone feel 'fat as fuck', really.
How the fuck can you actually still be living at 33 lbs. I hope this man is locked in a dark cell for the rest of his existence
Blimey, I'm about 100kg myself at just over 6', she'd probably weigh the same as my arm...
